A newbie mate bought some sandals that fell apart within a few days, so we went back to the shop, not stall...no plobrem, the woman smiled, take another one, and he scoffed that I had told him not to bother because no way could he get a refund or exchange...till she charged him for it.

No, he did not get out of the shop without paying, and yes being a newbie he did have the temerity to expect the next one would last longer.

Any good business person knows not to rely on one source for goods if possible, he already stated that he had others who could supply the same product.
