I believe the police traced the girl from the aunt saying the mother was going to run away with the uncle & just put 2 +2 together.

I believe as well, Driven, that the uncle said from the minute he was arrested that it was a sham, but they didn't release full details until they knew for sure what had been going on.

They've arrested 3 women now, too.

Two of the women - Amanda Hyett, 25, and her mother 49-year-old Alice Meehan - were re-arrested after previously being held.

Police are also questioning Hyett's sister, Caroline Meehan, 29, on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

All three are related to the schoolgirl's step-father Craig Meehan, who is currently on remand after being charged with unrelated child porn offences.

They all watch the same daytime TV, all eat the same cheap food from Aldi, buy the same clothes from Primark, shag the same people on some kind of rotation basis & generally do not know what exists beyond their own estate (unless the DSS is on the next estate) to learn any different.

It's simply what unemployed people do.

Phuket Porno Shock: 'Vile' Brit Seeks Thai Bride

A BRITISH MAN convicted of child porn charges is coming to Phuket to marry a young Thai teacher he met over the internet, according to a Sunday newspaper. The 'News of the World' says that the bride-to-be on Phuket has not been told of the man's appalling past.

British police are powerless to stop the man, Craig Meehan, travelling across the world to marry the 24-year-old, who lives on Phuket, the newspaper reports. ''They will inform Thai officials the paedophile is in their country and it will be up to them to decide whether to warn the young bride-to-be,'' it says.

According to the newspaper, when Meehan's family asked him if he was going to his Thai friend about his past, he replied: ''No - why should I? She doesn't have to know, it's up to me.''

Meehan's past is bad enough for the newspaper to refer to him as ''vile.'' His bride-to-be, the newspaper says, lives with her twin nieces aged just four. The article, online at the News of the World site, is accompanied by a photograph of Meehan and the woman he is planning to marry, with her eyes masked so her identity is not disclosed.

Meehan, 24, is on Britain's sex offenders' register. He was jailed for 20 weeks in 2008 for 11 counts of possessing child porn.

He has told pals he plans to stay in Thailand for "a while" but eventually wants to take his bride to Britain.

One friend told the 'News of the World': ''He's totally obsessed with her. The girl has told him her parents are dead and she lives with her young nieces. His parole officer knows what's going on but can't stop him going.

''But this poor woman doesn't know he's a convicted paedophile. If anyone tells him that people will be disgusted by what he's doing he just replies, 'I love her, let people think what they want'.''

Immigration officials on Phuket were unavailable for comment.
