Thread: Butterfly A-Z

Every one of these extraordinary images comes from the brilliant patterns on the wings of moths and butterflies. These designs - each one unique to its species - are used either to attract a mate or for disguise against predators.

Photographer Kjell Sandved has made it his life's work to capture them and create this amazing butterfly alphabet, with every letter from A to Z and every number from 1 to 9.

Oh i thought this would be a thread where we get to describe butterfly using words starting from A to Z.

I was going to wait until it came to 'G'

Obviously, some judicious photo cropping involved.

Wonder if they had to kill these animals to get the photos for our enjoyment? If they didn't kill them, holding them down for seconds, probably minutes at a time, likely had harmful and longlasting effects.

Can a mod please delete this thread as it offends my respect for animals?
