Is FAB dish or clothes washing powder or am I completely mistaken?I'll take a look in the 7 later cheers. Cleaning it up will be the next thing as I'm not entirely sure what the next mechanical step is.

You can use your newly acquired 8mm T wrench to undo the 14 screws on the belt cover to have a look inside. Don't attempt to do anything just have a look. The cover might be stuck so tap it gently with a hammer until it sounds hollow then pry it off. Yes there is a gasket but it is only to stop dust so it doesn't matter if it is not 100%
