November Holday suggestions under 8 hours flight from LOS, with nice dryweather 20-30

Daughter and partner off to Japan which I've "done" so any tips esp considering weather nowhre cold so not North.
I think Mid east out for obvious reasons, done most of Nam and China that I want to see.
Seen India Nepa Pakistan and Sikkim, S Lanka maldives but never Bhutan Taiwan E Tmor Bali nor Philipnnes, Adelaide or most of NZ whch is about as far as I 'd want to fly.
I don't need beaches if I run out of ideas may just lurk in Pai, Nan C Mai if dry or fly down to Krabi in short hops and few days Lagkawi or Penang.

I've read good reports about perhentain but I think its seasonal.

Any tips most welcome , I like quiet places, not party places, with some food on site or next door, fridge in room good wifi , pool parking handy but not vital

Go visit Nan, then backroads along Laos border to Ban Khok Uttaradit, Na Heao, Loei, Dansai, Phu Tubberk, Khao Kho, Back up to Lomsak. Pak Pat forest park, jump on the ferry at Sirikit up to Nanoi and finish in Nan. Very little traffic on any of these roads.

Actually, on reflection, no it's not. November's as shite as every other month.

Pop down to Singapore and wander through the botanical gardens before enjoying a Singapore Sling at Raffles.

Like me, you've probably done it a hundred times before, but it's still worth doing again.

beaches up north are nice. AC bungalow on the beach starts for … I dunno… some fair price. Just found it, Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi around $200/night. The Westin also excellent.

Take her to Dubai. Six to seven hours. The gold market, you know she wants to see it. Saffron in the adjacent spice market. Maybe drive out to Al Ain for a night in the desert. I'll ask the ayatollah to stop flinging rockets overhead for a few days.

I'd like to visit Sri Lanka. Never been. The CWMS isn't keen on darker skinned folk though. (Shrug.) Penang/KL/Singapore - if it doesn't rain.

Perhaps I should have made clearer it's in the OP , my partners going Japan I don't want to .
Not Middle East I used to go UAE when heavily bribed , I cannot think any amount of loot would convince me to set foot there again even without the violence .Inland Iran, Oman ok the rest they can keep it.
I have read the trains to Butterworth back but cannot book a air con bunk all the way having to mess about at Padang Besar. I think I might just drive around Esan looking for fun.
I have medical appts now til Nov 27 so that is earliest departure now.

^ Now you put it like that, maybe Korat isn't so bad after all!

You forgot about the opportunity to experience the genuinely awful city traffic conditions during weekly visits to the vet.
