Except that if he really is working that hard to make a baht then setting him back 900 baht should be a pretty good deterrent.. But I can seriously relate and sympathise with both posts the first one really brings out my post traumatic stress syndrome....

In fact, just went through something all too familiar and very similar with my wife just minutes before I read your post.. Thanks for the laugh....I'm sure you weren't enjoying the humor at the time..

Smeg, you posted in the Dipshit Thai Award thread and nominated Thais that can't spell and then you make a spelling error yourself. Can you not see the irony in that? By the way, we all make spelling errors.

If my post bothers you so much then you must be a real weak ass, insecure person. Where I come from, onion skinned guys like you got their lunch money pinched every day and had their moms drive them to and from school. You are an adult now. No one is kicking your books out of your hand anymore, so just relax. It is an internet forum....nothing more, nothing less.

I enjoy posting on the Teak Door forum. If ever the time comes that I do not enjoy it then I will quit.

Having been on both sides here many times. I have to agree here with NR and Chitown, guy.. I think that was a time to laugh at yourself, though I know it gets difficult to do at times when you feel your being pounded all the time and don't want to be perceived as a fool by turning the other cheek..In this case it would have been the right thing to do...

So a couple of days ago the owner has my internet connection up and running. The next morning we have no electricity. I enter reception to this moron asking me "Internet good now".

The cable TV has vanished now. We just have channel 5 and some cartoon channel. This presumably is in an effort to dislodge the few remaining loing-term tenants.

Want to own an empty apartment block? Give a full one to a Thai owner and wait...

I did nothing of the sort. I don't know anyone who can spell perfectly. I would laugh at myself if there was a real irony to it, but in fact I nominated Thais whose profession it is to produce marketing items using the English language such as menus and adverts and whose sloppy standards produce errors like the below. To compare my rushed typo on a forum with a professional gaf like that is remote at best.

Maybe they would have had to go to a smaller font size if they added the "A" probably wouldn't have looked so good

^^OK, you've made your point & , now I consider it, an extremely valid one! I actually note that in your pictured ad, their use of upper & lower case letters is rather dodgy also.

I vote that all we concerned TD'ers organise an online petition protesting at MK's total disregard for the English language. We should organise protests with placards stating our disgust at this utter disregard for the language of Chaucer, Shakespeare, Keats et al. We should all boycott MK restaurants (easy for me - my nearest one AFAIK is an hour away) and make sure that they realise just how important this missing 'a' is to us.

    So, are we ready???

I don't understand why anyone would go to MK anyway?

Unless you're some arrogant Thai or farang prick who thinks they somehow rule it above the masses by going for overpriced nosh - and I can think of one or two frequent posters here straight away.

I can just imagine the designer sat there scratching his head wondering how to spell "restaurant" when designing the poster, not noticing the MK Restaurant Logo in bright green which was probably supplied by the company. As for getting it checked, that would cause loss of face so is skipped.

The "depatment store" is another ponderer....

The duck at Mk is great and order extra duck sauce and a pour it over a bowl of white rice. Then eat that with the veggies. I eat there twice a week.

And it is healthy. They give you a print out at the end of your meal telling you how many calories, as well as fat, protein and carb grams that you ate.

Which is my next dipshit Thai of the week nomination. Since this is a suki restaurant in which a group of people share a pot of assorted foods, what is the point of supplying a (average only) count of the total calories, fat, protein, and carb grams consumed by the group as a whole in various proportions? This gimmick tells you nothing individually useful whatsoever.

^ it does if you eat about approximately the same portions. When I go the calories are about 500 to 600 a serving. So if it is the 2 of us, then give or take a fe calories, it is still a healthy meal.

Healthier than Pizza Co. for sure.

Just curious, do read and write Thai?

If you do, do you spell everything correctly?

^Mr apologist, I am not employed to produce Thai language menus and adverts by major companies, and if I was I'd use a dictionary to check spellings and then get them fully proofread before printing them.
