^ Pretty much sums it up.
The trigger was being ordered to do some numpty's job this week. A job he has been on for over 2 years and has failed to do anything. I mean nothing, diddly squat, the square root of fook all...and can I finish it by the end of the week!

It's the end of the week. I have had some tremendous help from a couple of engineers and we have all but completed the work.

Now the original dick for brains is looking to take credit for it.

^That's good you have extra help and got it done. Feel good about your part, that original dick will get what's coming either in this life or the next. Take a load off, relax!
It is hard to control other people and what they do.. be proud of what you did and the help you received.

So many Nationalities to have a dig at on my list, and so much more to add to the ones I've already mentioned.

Gosh, who's next. I guess it has to be the Mafiosa Italians, fooking clique bunch of misfits, can't even go to bloody lunch on their own, always have to be in their little group. Never met such a bunch of work shy twats in all my life, except maybe the Spic fookers. We normally just group both as Meds (as in Mediterranean).

Anyway, we had one guy who was always flattered because we called him "The Magician". He was under the impression that he'd been doing a good job for years with that nickname. Unfortunately for him, when we finally managed to get rid of the lazy barsteward, we explained that his nickname was because the only thing he could do effectively was turn coffee into piss.

...hang on! Can't say more about the Dagos, I've just received another couple of bottles or red wine, some lovely olives, and my favourite 'crumbly' Gorgonzola. You see, they do have something going for them, just as long as they are not ruining your day by coming into work.

As for driving cars, the Italian discipline, or lack thereof, really shines. They can't even stay between the fooking white lines on the road. Traffic lights can be any colour they like, they just beep if they want to ignore the red one. Overtaking is also an art in Italy, never quite know which side they are going to pass you on, even when you're in the nearside lane they can find a way to undertake.

We feel your pain. perhaps a sunhine break or early retirement to LOS, then you'll really feel better, or get whipped with birch by a Suomi lady in a vodka filled sauna it a terrible end but a beautiful finish
From what I garner here Wongamat may be the wronger splatt to try to fit in, perhaps do a job swop with SA could compare moans, most folks can imeprsonate a management consultant for a week or too, to get away with it for years requires honed skills of Thai slipperyness combined with loveable Irish rogue sense of humour and smattering of latest industry jargon

Chiang Mai attracts many thoughtfull people like Cy Harry and Misskit, were it not for my mother-in-law would have been quite content to nestle into the nearby hills, if staying in burning season in Spring bring a spare lung or go to the islands.

Of course you can escape those Med races readily in Germany , most cities have areas full of Vietnamese, Kurdish/Turkish cafes bars, Ukranians,Macedonians, Bosnians and I had Russian, Syrian and Uzbeki mate there in Dresden of all places, I assume you are not amid the Osties it's still a different place I used to go over to Saxon Switzerland regularly when in Prague for weekends very nice scenery, food ,ale, people, kinda like Bohemia with German twist

^^ I return to LOS in 3 weeks. Why I don't retire and stay there is beyond me.

Another silly little gripe about the squareheads. Silly but really annoying. The toilet doors are closed when they are vacant instead of left open. The engaged symbol can rarely be seen so people are forever trying the doors to see if they are free.

Most likely reason for not retiring is that you can tolerate your job and it pays you well.

At the risk of stating the obvious.

Agree with a few notable exceptions Fritzl and Hitler obviously Austrians have a very can do positive attitude .

I am distantly related vi marriage to Arnie and dated some of the Eichmann tribe when I lived in Urfahr where Hiler went to school. The Reidmark and Salzkammergut are unequalled while the Muellviertal where I learned German in the ohemian Groves have wonderful music , freemasonry, magic fungi, the Romaans liftes some of the weed to plant grapes. The Freemasonry museum has splndid pictures of John Glen, Peter Sellars , Prince Philip of the Hellenes, Prince Bernhard of the nazis and your truly outside with gf.

There are higher alps , danish pastries , finer wines, ciders but for untrammeled hedonism hard to beat , they drive like Finns having been used to ice driving, dry summer roads thye race like Joachim Rindt the posthumous world champion after Monza cradh in 70, met one of his tem mates who runs a Schnitzl joint next to Zaandvoort circuit, with a typically stunning "HEIDI" he imported in preference to the sturdy cloggygals

One of my Viennese neighbours had life thretening accident , imaine speed to make a foot dent in rear of a HILUX, it wasnt moving !! He was pissed luckily his insurers picked up 900k medical tab, I wont even go to the local after one beer as it invalidate insurance, stick to chauffeur or have delivery

^^ Agreed, worked not far from the Red Bull F1 Circuit a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed working with the Austrians...

Now back to the Squareheads...never known for their patience the supermarkets are quite legendary. No chance of packing your items neatly as they pass through the checkout, everything is done at light speed and the next customers are pressing as you throw everything in the trolley. Packing is done later. It was so bad to start with that we used to go round with two trolleys, one wih just an item or two in, just so we could use it to keep a distance from the next person in the queue.

As for their shop assistants, it's a wonder anything is sold! Yesterday, I ended up putting back my potential purchases in 3 different shops. First the till didn't work and there was no other and could I come back in half an hour. Second, there was no-one at the counter, big queue with no-one serving. Lastly, I got some grumpy old bitch who couldn't use the credit card machine. At least they still have staff in the shops, back in the UK I could hardly find one, all being done by those automatic crappy things that never seem to work properly for me. Must be great for the shoplifters...

It was quite a joy to go shopping in the UK and the French supermarkets after suffering the German way for so long.

The Squareheads simply lack patience and manners.
Manners! When I hold the door open for people in Germany, they always say, "Thank-you", not "Danke", "Grazie", "Gracias", or even "Mercie". Why? Because it seems only Englishmen seem to have enough manners to check before letting go of a fooking door!
