Some cool Electra beach cruisers by the water.
I still need to take my beach cruiser for a proper inaugural cruise
44km loop round by Uki and out to Clarrie Hall dam with 450m of ascent
War memorial in Uki
Mount Warning Hotel in the shadow of the mountain
No Prices
This is the kind of worshipping schedule I can get behind. Mass is only on the 1st Sunday of the month.
The dam
Happy belated Straya day boys
I was ravenous for these Trumpian cheetos by the time I got out of the saddle for my picnic
Might bring my canoe next time
Looped back along the rail trail for part of the return leg
Holy mother earth fig tree caught in the dipping sun
Nice patina on this derelict crane. Nigel could knock that off with a very simple palette
The Tweed wending its way to the ocean.
Very nice Loops!
^there was a couple of blokes on eFoils on the dam too. Expensive but fun bits of kit. They look like some kind of Star Wars hoverboards from a distance.
Today was just a gentle beach path trundle to uncoil my gloots from their oversprung exertions from yesterdays climbing
Apparently these nails were hammered into the grass in 2013 and I have been cycling past them for 12 years without noticing them before
I like when a shifting sandbar forms a mini-lagoon on a low tide day, since the trapped ocean water bakes in the sun all day for a late afternoon muscle relaxant spa
Is there any sight more beautiful on God's green earth than a woman's buttocks?
Paradise mate!
The beauty of cycling is you can take in all of nature at your leisure, beats driving.
Gentle Sunday cycle
Beach run followed by a rockpool spa
Living the dream!
Dirt trails in NSW this arvo...
This stuff takes a bit less energy
The landscape is folded like a geographical tablecloth
The road reached a stream which looked fordable but if I hit a rock and needed to put my foot down I would be cycling back with one dripping shoe so I called it a day
Some bike recommendations here...
- YouTube
Although I kinda missed some of the details
Had to oil my chain as was rigid with rust from having sat exposed through the recent rain
A magical air on the breeze
Bring your sheila to the beach so you can use her as a wind break while you are catching some rays
I did a 4km run to earn my zesty lemons
New beach apartments just finished
The old beach shacks are giving way one by one.
Thanks for sharing am all for modern designs but that seems like the way they cut pinepapples on a stick here , all jagged edges easy to suck but for a condo not for me
^The old beach shacks look like a time-warp beside all the new apartments popping up
Seems to be an endless string of perfect cycling days this week
Headed off round the Hinze dam
Water supply to the Gold Coast
Size o' the gongs on this fella
Mountain bike trails with ascent profiles, which is handy
Stunning pics and great ride.
I'd be scared swimming in any open water in Australia, you never know what's lurking below.
Reminds me of a memory of Queensland.
It was a sweltering day in the far north and I decided to cool of with a dip in the sea near some ysht club in the north.
A few minutes afterwards I was walking futher up the coast and came across a "do not swim sign! Beware of crocodiles "
Yikes, that was lucky.
Shalom
^The surface of the water looked mysteriously placid like something could lurk beneath...
If you watch the (very good) 2024 Russell Crow actioner Land of Bad, the whole movie is filmed at Hinze Dam. A lot of the opening action takes place around the circular lawn of the visitor centre.
Beach bike expedition today and someone was spinning the turntables with the bewitching Spooky playing as I cycled past
The picnickers were flocking round for vibe-absorption
You need to go to Broadbeach to see the volleyball girls in in their uniforms. Coolie is more casual
Big swell still rolling in
I got my IP68 rating tested when my spare shorts got washed off the rocks with my phone in them, while I was out swimming.
Lucky a lady grabbed them before they were lost to the deep. Although I did have to cycle back in wet shorts since the dry spares were for changing into.
Couple getting married scored some decent wedding weather
The bride looks like the pick of the bunch.
Good luck and fine fortune on life's storm-tossed sojourn, fair maiden
Rolling through the hills and dales of New South Wales
Just like the plastic cows I had on my toy farm 50 years ago. I just remembered that farm for the first time in forever just then. How weird is the texture of recollection.
The road turns to gravel as you head into the back of beyond arse-bandit badlands
I had to ford 3 streams in most delicate fashion to avoid getting the bullet-proof kevlar laces on my Salomons wet. I will choose my footwear more amphibiously next time.
Final destination at the end of a tough gravel climb and half way round the loop is the holy mother spirit tree, making my bicycle look like a toy at Christmas-time
A bit late in the day for most of us to get inspired to hop on our bike, but today ( June 3 ) is World Bicycle Day !
^ Whoops. Would have gone out for a ride if I had known that. There were probably a few group rides set up around the city.
Did 25km on the exercise bike on the verandah yesterday. It's amazing the difference when not out on roads that are akin to moving through Vietcong tunnels.![]()
^^Nice one Mike
I did not know that and consequently I was cutting trees all day instead of spinning the spokes
It is also just started Pride Month...
I think they should change it round and have Gay-Arse Pride demoted to a single day and cycling promoted to an entire month.
Executive Order issued - IN ALL CAPS and signed with a giant marker pen!!
I didn't know either until Garmin congratulated me for observing it after I uploaded my morning ride, just a mere 21km as it was my first ride in a while.
