The first "proper" Songkran since Covid. What are your plans?

Going upcountry to visit family? Joining mayhem in the tourist hot spots or locking yourself away until it's over?

Swimming in the mornings.
Gym & Chill in the afternoons.
BBQ & Beers in the evenings.

No need to venture too far from home, especially where they may be ..... ewwww... Western tourists.

I'm heading to beach in Cebu..got a waterfront AirBnb already lined up.

I was thinking about a beachside caravan in Pattaya.

Yeah keep thinking about it while your smoke out your neighbours on your 2sqm balcony you troll.

I’ll go to Lamphun and stay at a friend’s house. We plan to drink wine and hang out in her pool.

i like lamphun
and very good ressie opposite the moat just outside the big temple (Wat haupunchal sp) , cant remember its name but cant really miss it as its on the corner.

i will be locking the gate and raising the drawbridge for the duration

Albeit I do not really get a full vacation being other countries are working so I still have to do some calls in early morning however the rest of the time after say 8am is off. Wife and I relaxing at home swimming and not going anywhere. Plenty of food planned, a few friends will drop by and swim. Lots of festivities around our place as well plus few big Songkran parties with bands on Wed and Thurs.

In the mean time.......



Sandy has already found her bucket of water and is quite comfy sitting in it.





Mist system up and running around the pool bar. Quite comfy even if its 41c outside it.



Fridge stocked with more waiting.

I shall pray for rain, failing that hot chick cold beer like the rest.

I have done the same. Only leaving my bucket to eat or get another drink until the 13th where we'll brave town for a waterfight.

Yeah we have a big road closure party towards Song Prap by my wife's uncle. They always do a big party. Band. Music. Water festival with water weapons. I always enjoy going. It's always great fun. Food always good. Good Northern Thai music at 150db.

stumpy, be a good lad and post a few more photos of your pool, your house, your beer, your veranda, your instagram lifestyle, your hammock and your fucking fridge, just in case there's poster or two who haven't got the picture yet..

The irony of course is that the lummox actually thinks he’s an integrated, assimilated, rinsed out and dried in, homegrown farang who’s part of the community rather than a farang who’s created his wee bubble of existence, immune from anything Thai, approximating to the American suburban idyll right down to the pooch breed which shouldn’t be here.

The smugness is almost an emetic.

And that fucking poolside fridge …….gosh, how fucking cool Arizona.

You 2 guys(tax and Sa) are laughable at best and your petty cracks show up in many posts. But hey. Some of us did this right and are enjoying life versus trapped in a condo in whore tourist land or curtain twitching in the UK.

Quiet beach down south. To get away from the fucking smoke more than anything.

Normally I lock myself away for the duration - cook some food, watch a TV series or two and listen to some good music.
Unfortunately this year I have a wedding to attend at the other end of the province over the weekend
and in our village a neighbour will host a big party to celebrate her son(s) joining the monkhood for a period of time.

Off into town tomorrow as both daughter and I have outgrown our Songkran shirts for various reasons.

Seems like a good time to gun shop as well. I'm thinking a small pistol shaped thing, possibly in pink. Nothing too big as I'll have a bottle of beer in one hand.
