How about a kids' club room, you know like the resorts do. Add some clowns, magic show, colouring, some lego blocks and cars and they'll be happy all day.

Yeah I think I remember going to a range outside Pattaya up towards some golf course. was quite a few years back. Was actually kind of scary in many regards. The guns availble to use are not kept up and the ammo looked reloaded. I didn't shoot any AR type guns, just capped off a box of 9mm for fun.

^This place is quite new and is anything but scary in any way, it's a first class facility with very well maintained firearms.

Thanks HW, will see if I can squeeze in some time and check it out on my factory visits to CB and Rayong. Coming up soon.

^I'm serious, check it out. It's a very well done and professionally ran facility with indoor and outdoor ranges.

I used to love the mechanic bull in Nana. Always good for a laugh.

Now, he's another idea and I think it's a good one... a tethered hot air balloon. And you can give 15 minutes rides for people interested in the view. Charge double at Sunset and send them up with a glass of Champagne and some of your wife's best meat pies. I reckon people would pay 1,000 - 1,500baht easy! No one else in Pattaya is doing that.

^Use to be one at Royal Garden, we're going back a while but there was exactly what you're saying although without the champers and pies

And there's a mechanical bull at Hooters on Beach Road, if you want to talk about a business model that I thought was pure insanity with no chance of surviving in a town like Pattaya or Soi 4 Bangkok for that matter, there we have it (way overpriced finger food + girls that are only there to be looked at, yeah right).

I hate that place Hooterd and the area. One colleague who comes always insists on going there. I do everything I can to find a reason to not be available. He always stays at the Hilton.

I broke that bull when I was there a year or so ago. Maybe fell off too quickly.

A great response with many good ideas being considered.

I like Willy's tethered balloon concept as we wouldn't have to go so high to get a great view as I can see Pattaya City from the main house second floor balcony to the west including the Glass Mountains to the east East. I'll have to check how high we can go but we have the 12 floor CC Condominium about 400 metres away.

For those who have asked where we are we are in Nongprue district just next to the M7 Pattaya/ Chonburi Motorway. In fact when you are driving towards Pattaya on the M7 Motorway, once you clear the tollgate you will see a Mosque on the left and if you continue another 1 km you will see the bar just after Eastiny Resort. If you take the next exit to Sattahip, you will come down onto the railway track, do a U-Turn under the motorway then take a right turn under the motorway, turn left, drive straight for around 300 metres and we are there on your right in a Village called Little Venice.

Now speaking of a mosque reminds me that you haven’t yet catered for religious types. Not Muslim, but how about a Sunday morning school and chapel, it’s not like any other customers will be around then! And they’ll stay for a boozy lunch …

Agreed. But seems like Sunday mornings are an empty niche!

A bar with a swimming pool, a gun range and a tethered hot air balloon floating above.

I mean... what could possibly go wrong?

I'm doing some bricklaying on the ramp going to the back half of the property, which runs parallel to the Klong, and saw two large monitor lizards swim by so if you add the tokays, the large water birds that come daily and heaps of pretty big fish I could almost open a zoo.
I think there are still some monkeys in the adjacent nature reserve as well.

While I won't bother commenting on the gimmicks (and I don't mean that in a derogatory way), absolutely nothing is more important than quick, pleasant service, and rapidly served, consistent food and drinks.

It's just my personal opinion, but if I see the word karaoke mentioned at any venue, I'm avoiding it like the plague.

Same goes with any live or recorded music that makes normal conversation difficult.

And that's all I've got to say about that.
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth

Iv'e been spellbound by some live bands, just listening, not talking, just enjoying some great musicians making some great music. I hope to get some great people wanting to play here as the acoustics is good and I want everyone to enjoy a music set and during the break jabber on as much as you like!

^And there's the problem, deciding if you want to be a live music venue or a bar/restaurant that has live music in the background. People going out for dinner do not want to be unable to talk over the music while they're dining, people going to live music venues are typically there just for the music and want it to be loud. The two don't combine well.
