Over the years in Thailand I have worked with many L and G, a couple of B and a few T. I only saw the general tolerance and acceptance collapse on one occasion. A very newly transitioned T (male to female) decided that they now had the right to use the ladies multi-stall bathroom. The Thai ladies at work were very upset (especially as there were single use, non-gendered bathrooms available).

Most men would not give a hoot if a F to M T used a male bathroom, competed against them in sports or shared a changing room. All of those are problematic for womens spaces (and this is the entirely reasonable position that Rowlings put forward).

It also gets into the position put forward by Jordan Peterson - how much am I obligated to accept your world view?
