    Feeling the earth move!

Had a nice shaker about three hours ago; mag. 5.6, about 40 miles away.

Kids did as taught/told, got under the massive dining table; no tears or fears, but...the younger one (just turned 5) wet his pants, while I went to get a flashlight and cellphone.

I am quite happy that he feels comfortable enough with me as a parent that he told me what he had done, in a straight-forward manner, without fear of punishment. Another bonus was that his older brother (6.5 yrs) didn't chide or ridicule his brother, and handed him a folded newspaper to sit on so that the carpet wouldnt get wet.

It is times of "crisis" that reveal true nature, so quite happy the shaker happened.

Sorry, nothing to do with Thailand
Sorry again, if the title fooled you into reading this!

It is, indeed, refreshing to see friends and family behave in circumspect civility in the face of crisis and uncertainty.

Why just last week I awoke from a drunken slumber and pissed in the clothes hamper next to the bathroom door. My wife kindly handed me a shoestring and helped me tie it off before trundling off back to bed.

It is kindness like you describe that makes me want to marry again. She could easily have given you a rubberband, but seems she made the effort to find a shoelace! True love

Wow, technology is moving faster than I can keep up. Didn't know you can watch non-local tv on internet.

I don't even have cable, dish, or an antenna; don't watch much broadcast tv at all, mostly dvds from expanding collection. Have forced kids to watch (and appreciate) Mr. Bean, Monty Python, and Pee-wee's Playhouse, as well as most of the old Ray Harryhausen movies. Used to sing/hum various James Bond theme songs as lullabies when kids were younger.

I'll turn them into old farts by the time they hit their teens!
