Matty took his own life last night. No details to give, just passing on the news to Aging One and all of those that knew him. Such a funny bloke, loved his cricket, loved a bit of banter.
Miss be missed by many.

Well...he'll be tortured no more

I recall he was a somewhat sensitive soul who preferred to take things seriously and if th mood took him dallied on the side of whimsy. Am I right in thinking he was a former drug using young person who drank deeply at the trough of Bangkok plenty before morphing into a more considered persona? He disclosed he was writing and had completed several works. Can anyone offer a constructive obit?
He was one from the past in the halcyon days of TD and it is quite saddening he has gone, particularly in the knowledge it was by his own hand.
R.I.P Wally, you're free now.
Jeezus Wally only knew him on TD. I had never met the guy. I really felt for him on his post. Seemed like a very tortured soul. Grieve no more Wally. Very, very sad.
RIP Matty ... hope your Soul finds peace now.
That's so sad.. Wally's recent threads were obviously indicative of his state of mind and dwelling on his past.
RIP Matty.
Really sad to hear, he obviously had all sorts of deep issues but I always hoped he could find a way to deal with them besides this
Oh no . . . that is so incredibly sad.
Rest in Peace

R.I.P
It's a damn shame he couldn't pull himself out of the darkness.
Just ignore him, he just wants the attention and this thread to be about him too.
What a terrible thing to hear; especially having seen the workings of his troubled mind for our own eyes. RIP fella.
I dont know how other posters feel, but I'd be in favour of having *that* thread binned. Not pleasant viewing for anyone - especially his family and friends- and more than a ittle macabre to look at now.
That dude was an enjoyable character and is a sad loss for the forum. Always difficult to understand these decisions but hope the man found peace.
Not aware of any system of archiving on the board. Move to members ( if not there already) would be the only way of limiting access i know of.
Sad news, but a personal decision to be respected...RIP Wally...
