Sleepy old Adelaide carries on much the same- but it's all people are talking about in the pubs. Particularly concerning is the rumour they may not allow spectators at aussie rules matches.
Foreign students are much scarcer, which is not good for city F & B outlets, and our huge foreign education sector.

Monkey brawl in Lop Buri shocks humans
Monkeys from two rival gangs prepare for combat in Muang district of Lop Buri on Wednesday. (Photo from Sasaluk Rttanachai Facebook account)
Hundreds of monkeys from two gangs engaged in a brawl that shocked local humans in Lop Buri on Wednesday.
Sasaluk Rattanachai posted a message showing hundreds of monkeys taking to the streets in the Lop Buri municipality on Wednesday.
Lop Buri is home to thousands of monkeys. Each has to swear allegiance to one of two gangs — temple monkeys and city monkeys. Temple monkeys control the areas around Phra Prang Sam Yod, while their rivals are based in the municipality. The zones are divided by the northern train track.
Normally the two camps do not encroach on one another's territories.
Why today's rare incursions? Local residents came up with different theories. Some pointed to the torching heat that might have made them hot-tempered, while others believed they were fighting for food.
Biew Um-in, a taxi motorcyclist, told Thai Rath online that he witnessed the leader of the temple gang leading its members into the area controlled by the city camp to find food at a market. The chief of the city monkeys then fought back, leading the intruders to retreat to their home turf, he said.
A woman told Thai Rath online that the monkeys at Phra Prang Sam Yod did not have enough food and decided to enter other areas to meet their needs.
Somchai Unakong, a local resident, told Manager online he interpreted the incident as a bad omen for the country -- the 75-year-old man said he has never seen it before.
"Did this relate to the Covid-19 virus that is spreading?," he questioned. "I wondered."

I have three engagements next week here in Sabah - one is fine, the second is thinning out in numbers and the third has decided to stay in Kuching . . . which is fine as they pay me in advance - no refund. Plus they paid my airfare and hotel.
Affected yes, current pain - no. But when the next ones are, who knows . . . don't care, going back to NZ end of next week before that horrendous Ardern decides to close shop because she thinks that's what her electorate wants in the hope they'll vote for her again
I just saw this in the news... the boats I work on, for Norwegian contractors, in Norwegian waters, are usually manned by at least 50% non-scandic... mainly UK but also a lot of Poles, Croatians, Germans, Belgians, etc etc
I wonder however they will be able to man the boats in light of this? Everyone is saying it will get a lot worse before it gets better.

Norway Is Closed: PM Takes Drastic Measures to Stop Coronavirus
The Norwegian Prime Minister announced the most drastic set of measures ever seen outside of wartime in an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Millions of Norwegians and foreigners living in or visiting Norway will be impacted by a drastic set of measures announced by Erna Solberg today. Norway is essentially shutting itself down for two weeks, in a bid to stop the rapid spread of the coronavirus and COVID-19 disease.
The government discourages all travel that is not strictly necessary. Anyone who has travelled outside the Nordic region (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway) since February 27 must stay at home for 14 days from when they returned to Norway. This applies regardless of your health.

It seems some are realising a complete shutdown is the most efficient solution. Short term pain for the long term gain. Hopefully. There are now examples that appear to have a more positive outcome.
Had to come back to Kunming 3 weeks ago to renew my visa. Not much going on during that period. All schools, pubs, restaurants closed. Thankfully the weather has been great so able to go for a 7 or 8km walk everyday.
The restaurants opened today and schools are back soon. Returning to normal. Unlike Europe and the USA..
Was Kunming affected to any great extent?
I think there were about 40 or 50 cases here in total. Only one in my area further south.
When we came back we had to fill in some online documents stating where we went (we were on hols in Cambo, Viet and Thailand). The cops also came here to check our passports and temperatures. Other than that, not much hassle. We were able to go out and about as normal. Just not much to do.
Oh, how sweet. Peter Dutton, our Minister for Home Affairs- and one of the most dislikable folks you could ever meet, even compared to other politicians- has got it. Shame about Tom Hanks though.
Affectation so far. At work: Some local petrochem companies around Rayong now not allowing staff access due to recent overseas / offshore travel.
Tons of new paperwork regarding future business plans, contingencies, prevention measures, etc., etc. Some of our upstream refinery customers
are asking for big discounts on all services and materials because of the oil price slump. Cheeky cnuts..
On a personal level: Bought up a lot of stock this week at what I thought was rock-bottom, but still descending..
Travel plans to UK and France next month are up in the air, as don't want to get quarantined in either place for a long time, tbh.
Getting a little weary of the media hype and total overkill. They love a good virus scare, don't they.?
So, my second planned Europe trip just canceled (this was for end of May). Work just announced one positive person. Contact tracing ongoing. Family discussion this morning and we will head to Makro this afternoon for some stockpiling. Sigh. Just staples, rice, noodles, oil, canned sardines, canned tomatoes if they have them. Will plan on getting three to four weeks worth. Probably lucky toilet paper is not an issue!
Think it is about 50/50 as to whether work will shut down all non-essential.
Just seen NZ have announced arrivals have to self-isolate for 14 days. Was thinking of going back for a mates 50th but that might spell the end of that plan:
Coronavirus: Everyone coming to New Zealand must isolate for 14 days, Prime Minister Ardern says | Stuff.co.nz
Ardern is finally getting her act together - after realising how unpopular her waffling was . . . just hope not too many flights (esp mine) aen't cancelled going to NZ

Well, here we go . . . NZ announced that all arrivals into NZ have to self-quarantine for 14 days. Our birthday celebrations for the littlest hat have to be postponed and the older hat child can't come down to NZ from Oz as she is planning to fly the US on a holiday before her Uni starts again.
Affected . . . yes.
