Let me make it simple for you.
I thought it was fairly self explanatory that I didn't install a wood burning fireplace in my bedroom. No only is it expensive and time consuming, it is also illegal. So if it wasn't a wood burning fireplace, it was probably either a gas or electric one which both involve imitation wood and flame. Todays modern fireplaces are controlled digitally and use LED and laser lights to make a stylistic and 3D fireplace without the hassle of open flame. Comparing one from the 1970's to 2023 is like comparing a computer from the 70's to one in 2023. Mine has flame speed control

And the main reason people install gas or electric fireplaces is for supplemental heat. Which is the same reason I did. What would you do if you needed supplemental heat in a room ? Put one of these in the corner ?

Fireplaces today are a huge industry and they aren't some fucking ode to the 70's .
