My wife showed me some ultras-sound images of my new grandchild this morning and that means number 5 for me!

A gift of life is extremely special and I feel privileged to be involved.

    Lovely warm spring day.
Walked the dog and knackered him out.
Went for a blast on my bike.
Cooked a full Sunday dinner which everyone ate.
    Went to work, no issues.
Come back to a house full of teenagers having fun, chatting, drinking.
    All good at chez Chitty.

First day of my final term here in UB. 8 weeks and then a sabbatical! If there is a lesson I have learned over this year it is the importance to try to create a healthy work/life balance, it will certainly be something I take a little more seriously when looking for a job after my travels.

If you're quitting your job then you are not taking a sabbatical.

Daily moan. Just remembered my motorbike license expired a few months ago.

Feck it, I think there's a 12 month grace period for renewal before you have to do all the tests and videos again.

Congrats. Seems like you've done a good slog of 2-3 years in Mongo, and will come out with a nice wedge.

Do you think you'll go the Buy a condo in Bkk and set up shop route, or something/somewhere else?

A young-ish single lad with their own pad in Bkk, an easy 6 figures a month with 3-4 months holiday per year is doing alright.

Yup you get a full year after the expiry date which for me is my birthday in August. So 6 years from now in August. You still do have to do 4 physical tests buts its been improved and faster. Color blindness, Depth perception, Brake time reaction, and Peripheral vision. I was shocked how many Thai's were failing one or more of the four. Many could not comprehend you have to break with your right foot.

Another day in Blackpool, living in my 3m x 4m hotel room I've been here for about 2 months now, going through prostate cancer diagnosis/treatment. I am actually still waiting for the results of the biopsy, and then will decide what treatment to follow. I'm hopeful to sort all this out before August, which is when I hope to get back to Mandalay in Myanmar to impose my terrible teaching skills on some long-suffering students!

Yesterday I received my shiny replacement UK driving licence to replace my old paper licence. I also got confirmation that my name is back on the UK electoral role. So all is going well, albneit slooooowwwwwly!

    ^Good stuff!

I was sent a msg this morning that school is closed due to power outages from yesterday's ice storm.
Tomorrow is Good Friday and I'm off Easter Monday, sooooo that means I have a five day holiday! Wohooo!

Sadly I have two assignments left for my online course, so I have work to do! The plan is to do it today and tomorrow and leave the rest for hiking and hanging out.

It is really important for sure. I've learned that over the years as well. Good luck on your final eight weeks and wohoooo vacation!

A rare gloriously sunny day here.
    Day off.
    Mowed the lawn.
    Walked the dog.
Oil and break pads changed plus full detail on the car.
    Cleaned the house.
Cooked a very nice Mexican chilli.
Off out to buy the eldest his first car, hope that this doesn't go in the Daily moan thread
    Shalom

Is he fook going on my insurance!

It's took me twenty years to get mine gown to £200 a year fully comprehensive.

You've heard the saying "All that glitters is not gold".

This particular car was a good example of Del Boy Vs Arthur Daley Motors.

Thank fvck I took a few pics to prove my point to my son who had fallen for it and had been mythering me all week to look at it.

To cut a long story short, I took it for an unnecessary test drive as I knew after two minutes it's was a dog.

I gave it a good ragging with my foot on the brake and returned it to the car lot in a haze of smoke.

Ruddy second hand car dealers thinking they can pull the wool over my eyes, I did the humane thing and sent it to the scrap yard in the sky and saved some other less aware punter the pain.

I did enjoy myself and the look on Arthur Del Boy Daleys face was priceless when I put the key back in his sweaty palm

The 40+C heat in bone dry Isan became too much. So I decamped to Taiwan this morning. Grey skies, green mountains, rain: Fantastic. And everybody formed an orderly queue to get on the train.

I'd post a photo if only I could master that from my phone.

A couple of weeks of respite here. I came alone, so I can enjoy the scenery. Oh to be young again! A photo thread would be a stretch unless one of these nice young ladies wants to come back and play with my handset.
