Christmas party tonight and a manager asks me to inspect her new recent ddd boob job, Xmas parties are great!
Well Mrs Somtam ain't happy, bet on Norts number 67 and it lost, i also did 24. Both up and down 200 bht a number, she's out over 12k, cheers Norts for making my other number lucky. :smileylaughing:
That's a Steak sorted in one of the overprice bkk eateries, Mrs doesn't eat beef so special twig and tree leaves a or some such will keep her happy.
Oh Sybs miserable, hate to be him and it makes me glad i'm not
Back on track ...
This was going initially into the Daily Moan however ...
Thai Partner and the Rugrats flew back into the Kingdom last week.
No Hi-so Luggage, a few standard Luggage bags and a black duffle bag ... all with a red ribbon around the handle.
Landed, Immigration, luggage carousel. Bag 1√, Bag 2√, black duffle bag X
There was one bag, black with a red ribbon, similar but not ours left unclaimed.
Registered the lost bag with AirAsia and proceeded to lose all hope to retrieve it.
Miracles of Miracles ... 3 days later it got delivered.
Happy Days :)
I'm home...it was a poor 24 hours getting here but who cares. Kids and dogs are pleased. It's dry as hell and pretty warm for 7pm. A second glass of cold beer and I'll be off to bed.
Love being home in the middle of nowhere.
Merry xmas Troy. If thats Germany to Thailan it seems a long one, did you have to lay up?.
No lay up but flight delayed and missed early flight to Udon. Immigration were their usual selves but more to do with people in front not knowing the procedure. Packed flight and I had the middle seat in the centre aisle of a 777. Not pleasant and zero sleep. Films were good though...4x4 and official secret being the pick of several.
Same taxi driver as always took us home and car started first time as always. Went for a spin to drive off the flat spots.
Many from family around now so l'll not have that much needed sleep just yet....
Good brandy and a bottle of aberfeldy for new year celebrations...to go with the hairy biker vodka...loving this already....
Simple pleasures in life. Its roof steel painting time and after a 1 1/2 hour session this morning i'm feeling very chipper, could be the thinners though. Sat with a cuppa watching a pair of birds but not sure what flavour picking off red ants on the mango before too many get on them and they do an aerial display to shake them off. Going to give the gates a spruce up so my euphoria will last well into the morning.:)
See VNs got it, great track and a great bloke despite his challenges.
Its the 2nd day of steel cutting and welding but by God its got hot, kind of makes me wish i'd done the roof first and concrete base last. Still progress is being made and soon i will have the biggest sala in 20kms, may have to get a celeb in to open it officially, Sausages?
Another reason to be cheerful, Reachy's got it bad for me. i do hope his doggie in the birthing crate does'nt get jealsous. Sick puppy.
staff member sent me a pic - weekend intruder at one of the sites...
I smiled..

^WTF is that? Big rat or small rabbit? :)
a possum - some think they are pests - I think they are great -- they stomp around the ceilings of houses in Oz.

Cheers all. Started my trek north home this Am. Great to leave "Chinaburi" area. :)
First stop is Ayutthaya ( here now) to see BIL and family and spread some Christmas cheer with gifts we brought back from the states. Also my niece gets all the coins I save in a big bottle. She loves stackin and counting them
I am sending pics through Whatsapp of me relaxing at his house with the AC on full while he is stuck at work until 5. :)
Tomorrow head out early to be back at home to see FIL. I bought the old fella a bottle of Woodford Reserve bourbon. Also got him a new beanie and long socks. Poor guy is freezing which makes me laugh
I will enjoy being home relaxing with my Dogs and turning and burning on my Moto around the area. The wife has planned a big BBQ of ribs Saturday night.
Life is good.
Back to work on Jan 6.
Nice Japper but you've gone down seriously in my estimations, there's the most important group missing, granted they'll need a days notice to meet you at the gate. Sheesh what a bloke.
Oh yeah. My Tortoise herd. Haha. They have apparently burrowed away for winter. I will track'em down when I get home. I bet the big male weighs 50lbs now. I want to teach him to be a guard tortoise and watch the stairs to the house...:)
Japper with 50lb armour plated digging machines around your place i'd be worried about subsidence. :)
I have some pics I will post up my FIL took. 2 of them teamed up and are digging a drug trafficking tunnel to Burma. Sneaky bastards.
 the good news is you've got three years to do something about it, or just dangle some lettuce near the opening.
Actually Lettuce doesn't work. I have to draw them out with big sections of cactus. I planted 3 of them a few years ago and they are doing amazingly well.
Draw them out:rofl: tell you what the pics will be great. They are simultaneously sad but wonderfully funny creatures. Got to say and this doesn't belong in the thread that we won't know what were are losing the way we abuse the planet. Long live tortoises.
OK NPT. Got home today and did a sweep of the place with my dogs. They made sure to rat out the Tortoises looking at me like " Hey why can they did a big hole and not get punished" :)

When I walked by the back hedges, The oldest one came right out when he heard me. He knows I am good for a big hunk of cactus.

That is the biggest male. He was sitting guard at the tunnel he is digging. It appears by the mound that he is on his way to Burma. Funny Trump hasn't figure this out yet that tunnels go under walls...:smileylaughing:

That's the female at the mound of sand they are excavating. I did not look to deep into the tunnel yet.
The 4th one was hiding somewhere. She will come out tomorrow when I start watering.
Japper thanks for that, my day has largely been a sweat fest starting 6am, a few breaks and i am working a box of Chang, what can i say its been an emotional few days with the heat. I'll knock up some pics when i get back to the UK and show you the sala.
Those pics tho i just love them, you seem to have sandy soil which must suit burrowing.
Look forward to them NPT.
Interesting our land is mostly clay based but the way they dig it out when its dry they seem to pulverize it into nice dirt. At some point later we will likely see about placing them in a Zoo here. Sulcata tortoises can get upwards 75lbs and 35 to 40" in diameter. They can be destructive. If I do not like the Zoo then I will make a big section to let them wander but stop them from free range.
Today was funny in that the Kerry delivery guy showed up and laughed when we opened the gate and one was standing there in the middle of the drive way staring at him.
Trying to remain positive even though a rogue wave took both my daughter's goggles and my very needed glasses. Glad I always pack a spare...
Finally the carport is done 8m x 9m , bar a dab of paint.
I confess it took longer than expected, partly due to a 3 day delay in materials and partly due to an acute 2 day apathy attack on my part. Still with a 3.5 to 4m high roof it'll make a pleasant sala for the BiL to sit under, all for about 68k thb
The weather the last week has been unpleasant for working in and i am going to enjoy putting a dent in a box of Chang today.
I can now try to chill for the remainder of the hols and Mrs Toot is knocking up Fish and Chips in the wok. Life is good.
Don't forget.

Told the Mrs not to cook lets abuse ourselves of a resto.....its got Tom Yam written all over it..Its the Isaam Moo Yang and Soup place and it distinguishes itself as fooking delish, i could sit with a straw and drink the Tom Yam Short Rib Soup on my own...firey and would melt the lard off Hutter.
