You'll be needing that Fez, it's ruddy cold in Blighty and standard attire in these parts contrary to common belief it's not a flat cap..

Talking of football. At the end of last season Nongbua Pitchaya were promoted to the top flight of Thai football and on Wednesday night they had a home game against Pathum Thani, so we planned ahead and the gf and I had bought our T-shirts. There being literally nothing at all to do here, the footie beckoned.
Baht120 for a ticket and needed to show the vaccination certificate on the Mor Prom app. Masks were required for entry and then not worried about too much.

The match was well attended. In particular there were many young, single women dressed for a warm evening in appropriately skimpy gear. The two behind us were screamers, it was a surprisingly passionate crowd. I haven't seen the girfriend so excited since, erm, ever.
The only two farang bars in town remain firmly shut but the Leo concession here was doing a roaring trade. Obviously, Covid is a risk when you have a bunch of guys sitting and chatting but none at all when you have a crowd of people shouting and screaming and jumping up and down.
The opposition looked to be physically bigger and better organised so it was no surprise when they scored the first goal. The crowd didn't lose faith and Nongbua drew level, then went ahead 2-1. It all went a bit mad as the ball started to look like it was in a pinball machine and out of nowhere Nongbua went 3-1 up and the crowd went wild.
In the absence of other entertainments this was a very cheering experience. It was almost like life was nearly normal again.
^ Nice
Righto, happy Loy Krathong everybody, and a successful Krathonging tonight - may blessings be successful and your wishes come true.
Non-O secured yesterday.
Good 'til Feb, then we have to submit pics and two more hand drawn maps of where our house is. I've already submitted all that stuff once.
Gotta be done again at the end of December.
But anyway - hurdles cleared so far.
:beerchug:
Surely the positives outweigh the negatives with all the jumping through hoops to stay there.
New.
Helpfully dated to start three days before I got it.
During my morning walk with Bruno I stopped in at 7 eleven to buy some coffee.
I tied the monster to a telegraph pole and was keen to untie him quickly so I had prepared 120 Baht before I entered the shop.
I got the coffee, handed over the 120 Baht and left in haste but was called back by 1 of the staff.
Seems the 100 baht was a 1,000 Baht note and they gave me 900 Baht change.
Fair play to these honest Thais.
They appreciated the tip no doubt :)
Mrs Loy must have worked her magic on the Krathong last night
Back in the village at last...family children and 5 dogs running around in wild excitement. Lot's of things need doing after 18months away but it's great to be back. Longest I've been away for 23 years.
^ congrats Sir.
She is dancing around as if nothing was wrong. Wife and I are careful to keep our distance but she understands why. She had her routine chemo on Saturday and started school again last week. Her tummy is still a little bloated and walking is forced but hospital has done a fantastic job.
^ that's fantastic news and I hope the treatment is successful.
I left the car covered in the garage expecting to be back by Christmas last year. Didn't bother putting it on jackstands and no protection underneath apart from moth balls.
Opened the bonnet today to reconnect the battery and had to clear 4 mouse nests from engine compartment. They'd eaten through the plastic where the windscreen wiper mechanism is housed. I was fearing the worst but charged battery and it burst into life. Jolly happy about that...tyres needed some air, but all looks to be okay. Good to drive to garage and get a diagnostic check and inspection.
Family say I stink of dead rat now so I guess they made a nest in the Air con again.
Any advice for keeping the mice away would be welcome.
Traps that are regularly checked or a pet rat snake
Actually often the simplest solution is the best, cats. We have the and never a problem with rats or snakes
That's a point...where's the cat? I haven't seen her since we arrived.
