sorry about the time delay caller, what was the question again :)
Oh, and FOJ.
Landed in Manchester this morning and it wasn't raining, that's got to be worth a cheer.
I'm only here for 3 days so it's going to be difficult eating all the food I have missed the last few years. Today, it's meat pies for lunch and fish&chips for supper.
^ That bird blow you out mate?:)

Turning a negative situation into a positive!
At the rear of my garden is a beautiful beach tree that I've been training for a few years to block out the house property at the rear so that we are not overlooked.
Fortunately today I was in at the correct time because a Karen was hurtling up a ladder with pruning sheers.
I inquired as to her intentions to the tree on my property, her response was I'm going to chop it down with my chainsaw before it gets too big!
I replied it's on my property, to which she replied it's not.
Ok, she obviously needs some of the Chitty charm.
I get out my ladder to join her and have a discussion about Topiary, my plans, the Summerhouse/bar roof I'm standing on and what a glorious day it is etc
I compromise and chop a couple of feet of the top then with her assistance train any branches on her side to grow along the perimeter.
Shes happy and I'm happy shes happy.
I'm also happy as well because there is an overgrown Anderson Shelter in her garden that she doesn't want, now these are pretty rare and I can have it, it appears in reasonable condition for a 80 year old bomb shelter.
I fear I may have to invite Karen around to my bar for some customary libration.
Going to the NBA west conference finals. Who do we play Phoenix or Dallas? We will know this time tomorrow.

Bullshit. As long as they keep up with IT there is no need for the gaming thing. Neither of my kids played games and they are 24 now with great jobs and are completely IT savvy. In fact Vanessa who was just hired by Apple to a management position got the new Apple 13 pro max phone and McBook pro given to her as part of the job.
Above ... thanks for the support Armstrong.
Actually, playing MarioKart is part of playing with them.
As well as numerous other activities.
The Boys are in Little Athletics ... their shoe box of medals and trophies is overflowing.
I Coach them at home, drive them to the club nights (once a week), Coach all the participants in their age division on the night in the throwing events.
Do all the physical training with them.At days end, medals proudly displayed.
Watch all the Cartoons with them.
Take them down the park and kick the footy with them.
Cook for them when Mum has pulled a double shift.
Drive them to school.
Sit in the car for 40 mins while they play with their mates after school.
Overview their homework and, when it's shit, tell them to do it again.
They are top of their Class and both have received the rare platinum school award 3 years running ... and they have only been at school for 3 years.
... but you get the idea by now.
Gaming is a part of keeping up with IT. How else are they going to do it? Daughter can code in Scratch and is far more keen to read in Roblox than with Biff, Chip and Wilma. Minecraft is used constantly in British schools in all sorts of lessons so much so that there's a 'Minecraft Education' version.
Not to mention the life learning of not winning every game, taking turns, fair play and the dexterity of the left and right hands.
TD:
Home of many terrible parents. :/
Ah shure tiz terribly sad.
Waiting at baggage collection which i have found less than swift on my last two trips in Manchester (Andy Burnham) International Airport. Last time i was through immigration in 5 minutes and then waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for the Norvern handlers to deliver.
This time they came through, a sterling effort and i picked my bag up in only 50 minutes. As i stood there with 6 other people and only 4 items making their 20th trip round the escalator i decided to walk to the other side and discovered and my bag along with the lady's bag i'd been stood next to had been helpfully offloaded around a corner and masked by one of the pillars.
All thoughts of lost baggage dissipated and i was still able to make my train, despite the lack of (Andy Burham) travellator from the Departure level to Train Station which i understand this International Airport has been without for over 2 years - that's Sausages and his ilk for you.
Anyway, I even helped a pair of Goths that got on at Piccadilly and were confused by having seats they'd booked being in different rows and were negotiating with an elderly lady about swapping seats so they could sit together in a largely unbooked and empty carriage- i pointed out the red lights above the seats meant they were booked and that the green lights showing above a table of 4 adjacent to me meant they had the choice of sitting next to each other or opposite gazing lovingly into each others eye. They chose the former and i strongly suspect she had no kickers on as he used the table to to try to cover the fact his hand was between her legs for most of the journey.
Ahh those were the days. :)
My youngest and I have done our good deed for the day.
A man in his eighties was looking ill and frail with walking sticks on an isolated country road.
Then he just sat down by the side of the road fiddling with his phone.
So I stopped the car and inquired as to his health and it turned out he had a hernia and couldn't walk anymore, he tried calling his family but was having difficulty with his smart phone.
So we helped him into our car and drove him home to his very grateful family.
He's been told off now and under instructions to only go for short walks in future as he was nearly 5 miles from home.
So, you’re cheering yourself.
^ :)
Week long cheer- TT week, doesn't get much better.
practice for 3 days, its quieter and you can get about easier, some mates are at a couple of pits so i could pop in and speak- can't do that once it gets serious.
Gasmonkey are going well - Hickman their rider is the lap record holder
30 year anniversary 0f the blade
John McGuinness on his 100th race and sill averaging 130MPH / lap
Made me laugh, hes tutoring Glen Irwin (new to TT) and they interviewed the kiddy, he said i didn't realise you got strobing through the trees as 200MPH and he didn't know where the road was- john said experience......:)
