This is a more up to date chart of the generations which has been out since 2013.
I am talking more about the Generation Z and how they seem more in trouble than Boomers. And I am Gen X, so I am not bashing Gen Z, as I said I feel sorry for them, but to the point where a lot of tough love is needed. It started in my day where the government cut off giving grants for financial assistance for going to university, but now they don't give grants, only loans. Many students coming out of university with huge debts on their heads, many defaulting because they are unrealistic for many to pay off.
The whole unmotivated thing, I believe comes down to the thing with lack of jobs once coming out of uni. I know many people (myself included) that came out with a BA, but there was no jobs with just a basic BA. Many had to go back, specialize in something and add more debt to that.
Then the kids today, well I think are depressed. My challenge is to inspire them to find themselves, and that school is needed (basic high school), just for a minimum wage job. I work in a urban school where many of the parents are poor. I think this impacts their attitude.. but the social media thing is more of a terror at times at times with many kids having committed suicide over bullying.
I would not want to be born today, and when I feel sorry, I don't mean it as a high and totty baby boomer, I seriously try to help this generation look forward.
