Welcome to the Chinese city of Luang Prabang...



Actually, I'll withhold my opinion until someone tells me what the Chinese words say....


This is a newly-erected wooden arch on the main street in the old town centre of Luang Prabang. I think it is a temporary structure and when it was under construction I assumed that it might be as the finishing line for the marathon race next month. But I couldn't understand why it was being built by Chinese workers, and why 3 Lao policeman sat at a nearby shop and watched them all day.


So what do the Chinese characters say? Anyone? And how the fcuk do I get normal-size pictures, instead of these thumbnails?
