This is growing wild in a hedgerow along the lane. I have never seen one before, seems to be a Flame Lily (Gloriosa superba) or close relative. Having looked it up it has many uses in herbal medicine and it is also poisonous.

Walk through new Winery behind my parents house in Saint Helena, Older Vines loaded with grapes. These will be a Merlot I believe. Next month will be the beginning of the harvest.

Thank you. I probably should have known that, I have visited Napa area. Some of my memories are a little vague after enthusiastic sampling of the local products.
