We had a sudden storm pass through Korat this afternoon... followed by a power cut until mid evening due to several poles going down.

It's amazing how heavy the rain can be, even if short lived.

We lost many branches from the mango trees, several papaya trees and sadly this one, which was my favourite tree in the garden. It was one of those with orange, pungent smelling flowers and was about 13 years old, planted when we built the house.

Discovered a lockdown swinging club on a walk in some secluded woodland today, miles from anywhere.

I wonder if its invitation only, or you can turn up on a Friday night and plunge right in..

So after yesterday with the Swan family popping over to say hello in the guise of asking for food, of which i had none i made up for it today with homemade wholemeal bread, oats and bran flakes to keep em regular.

The female was doing the equivalent of dancing under water to stir the bottom up for the signets to feed on, they also get quite hissy demanding food the bossy buggers

nope, i think i facilitated the shagging and i reckon the lady concerned was a first timer given the reluctance to put out on her part.

Has that toy dog pack produced anything approaching a return on your investment yet?

^ Looks like a female mallard in front, with a male following.

We used to keep Khaki Campbells when I was a kid in the UK. Fantastic egg layers. We had several ducks and a single drake (called Francis), so that when ever the bantams went broody we could hatch ducklings from the fertile eggs.

I came across a family piling team this morning on the dog walk. Around 7:30am they were just setting up the rig.

The husband was pouring oil along the rails while the wife and kid were sorting out the cables.

Once the rig had been positioned by winching itself along the rails, the reinforced concrete pile was hitched up. It was nice to see full PPE being worn (not even flip flops... bare feet seem to be the preferred option when it's wet and muddy)

The husband operated the controls while the wife and kid dealt with the swinging pile and snatching cables.

The wife appeared to be pushing the pile with a metal rod to fine tune it's attitude, while the hammer was whacking in the pile. Rather her than me.

^ This piling rig must be well over a kilometre from our house... and I can clearly hear the piles being hammered in as I type this in my office.

^ so is it the start of a gated community? i see the sign which they usually put up to entice aspirational punters to the dream of life away from the unwashed.

No, just four adjacent houses on a double plot.

We built here in 2007 and it's been nice and quiet until the last couple of years. Buildings seem to be going up all over the place in Korat now.

The number of boats moored is increasing markedly, which it does during the warmer months but you rarely see ones this size making the journey. Probably from London or Bristol - real widebeams. Lovely boats, loads of space but i imagine a pig through loads of locks of a day.

The Caen Hill flight is a couple of miles away and its quite a few hours going up or down - pub at the top which you need.

These are probably £100K up especially the Ozzie one.
