My new abode in Luang Prabang is located within the courtyard of a local temple, (making it safe and peaceful, except for the 5 am drums, but I get up at 4.45 am anyway).
The monks have been preparing this boat for a race on the Mekong which will take place in a few weeks. I'm not sure if the monks will actually be the racing team (I'm sure some Buddhist precept forbids competitive sport).
