Yes, I see that also. I checked to see if I had a filter switched on, but nope. So I must assume that my photos look old because my camera is old Actually, I quite like the hue.

A pet hate of mine in Thailand... I've yet to see a Thai builder (willingly) de-nail wood.

But even if that's too difficult, I wonder why they can't at least lay the wood 'nail down' in a holiday resort?

I tried to remove nails from some hard wood yesterday, the hammer broke in half, their tools just aint up to it!

My new abode in Luang Prabang is located within the courtyard of a local temple, (making it safe and peaceful, except for the 5 am drums, but I get up at 4.45 am anyway).


The monks have been preparing this boat for a race on the Mekong which will take place in a few weeks. I'm not sure if the monks will actually be the racing team (I'm sure some Buddhist precept forbids competitive sport).

I saw them testing it out on the Mekong this morning. I guess about 24 crew rowing like crazy - it goes pretty fast...
