Just what the world needs. Another economic basket case like Zimbabwe. After redistribution of farmland in Zimbabwe the inflation rate went from an already high 17% in 1990, as a result of a government without an economic clue, to the abandonment of their own currency in 2015, to U.S. dollars at an exchange rate of 1 USD = 35,000,000,000,000,000,000 Zimbabwe dollars.
The South African Rand, since the end of white rule, has gone from around parity in the early 80s to around 11.8 rand to the U.S. dollar currently. Unfortunately land distribution will only accelerate white flight from south africa and add to their economic malaise.
