The poor chap had been resident in thailand for 20 years, married to a thai national, probably supporting her too and yet the thai health system was unable to help him, and at that age insurance would be all but impossible.

The condo looks somewhat low rent and the pictures on the wall point to happier times, it is a shame that he, like so many other expats, unthinkingly burnt his bridges to civilisation and compassionate free healthcare when relocating to thailand.
