And *Whoosh*, you're asleep in six easy steps

I find reading anything from Fluke tends to have the same effect, but you can try this.

If you're finding it hard to sleep, this could be the trick for you.
Experts claim the following this breathing technique can send you to sleep within a MINUTE, the Manchester Evening News reports .
It's called the "4-7-8" method and has been championed by various people, from best-selling author and Harvard trained medical doctor Dr Andrew Weil, to popular wellness bloggers.
It can be completed in six easy steps:

    1. Place the tip of your tongue against the ridge of tissue just behind your upper front teeth, and keep it there through the entire exercise.
    2. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound.
    3. Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four.
    4. Hold your breath for a count of seven.
    5. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight.
    6. This is one breath. Now inhale again and repeat the cycle three more times for a total of four breaths.

The method is designed to relax you by increasing the amount of oxygen in your blood stream, slowing your heart rate and releasing more carbon dioxide from the lungs.
Whether it is guaranteed to send you to sleep in 60 seconds remains open for debate but Dr. Michelle E. Gordon, founder of Northern Westchester Surgical Associates General, acute and emergency surgery specialist says it did not send her to sleep but it DID relax her.

She told Medical Daily in an email: “The breath does elicit a sense of relaxation and calm. I teach it to my patients as a means of keeping calm when having anxiety over surgery or post-operative anxiety. It works.”
Dr Weil himself claims that "it produces a very pleasant altered state of consciousness. You may not get that the first time you do it but it’s one of the benefits of practicing.”
Can't sleep? This trick apparently helps you nod off in one minute with six easy steps - Mirror Online

I read a variation on this, and it does work somewhat.
So does a ban of hong tong, the last being with milk, and a doobie.

I'm intrigued by the tongue position in the OP method. Perhaps it's an accupressure point.

The relax method also works. Working up from the feet. Get one of your feet perfectly comfortable and relaxed. Wiggle it around if necessary but concentrate on getting it fully relaxed and comfortable. Now the other foot. Then your calves one by one then your knees work your way up the whole body eventually you will be completely comfortable and relaxed and ...zzzzzzz

Try the collective thoughts of DragonFly and SeekingAsylum. That should make you positively comatose.

I walked in a pub with my mate, and he looked around and said to me "I could have any bird in here if I wanted to".

    I said "What's your secret?".

    He said "I'm a rapist".

Alternatively, do away with 5 of those steps just by clicking here.

Tiffy doesn't induce drowsiness, but instead a sense of being high - as most strong amphetamines will do with some.

That's all well and good Slick, but the ingredients in Uncle Junior's pic (Tiffy Dey) are Paracetamol, an antihistamine and a nasal decongestant.

(I'm reading it off the label because I keep a box at home, it works great for killing minor colds).

I'd love to see you get amped on that.

With the antihistamine it's more likely to put you to sleep.

Added: A swift google suggest you should be looking for:

    ไดเมนนีน (Daimenin)

It was meant as 2 separate things - first was Dramamine's active ingredient for a little sleep helper thats OTC & Non-Addictive.

Second was LOL @ Jeff over "Strong Amphetamine"

In other words I was posting a common, cheap sleeping aid, and agreeing with you.
