With classes at Harvard starting in just a few short weeks, Malia Obama is making sure to end her gap year in style.
The former First Daughter was caught on video letting her hair down and dancing up a storm while The Killers performed at the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago.
Video obtained by TMZ shows Malia and a gal pal dancing wildly as the Las Vegas rock band played its hits during the headlining set on Friday night.
This isn't the first time Malia has been spotted enjoying herself while out in public with her friends.
The 19-year-old was videotaped last year at the festival twerking and grinding while listening to rapper Bryson Tiller.
Malia’s friend throws herself to the ground while Obama’s daughter jokingly pretends to play the drums, matching her moves with the music.
She then helps her friend up before they turn to watch the rest of the show, but the party was far from over.
Footage later captured Malia taking her turn to writhe and roll on the grass, thrashing around before headbanging and pounding the ground during a guitar riff.
Malia and her friends reportedly spent most of their time backstage during The Killers set, before going to the grassy area to dance.
Social media has been quick to defend the teenager for letting loose and having fun with her friends.
Twitter user @Blvck_Picvsso wrote: 'Malia Obama is doing what you supposed to do at an concert: HAVE FUN.'
Another said: 'This Malia Obama thing is being taken way out of context. She's dancing to The KILLERS! I would still be rolling on that floor...'
Some called for people to stop secretly filming the former first daughter in order to profit off of her.
@JassyBravo tweeted: 'Malia Obama having a great time like normal people but the problem is she will always be recorded but who is her friends tho ?'
Another user added: 'Malia Obama is living her best life. people need to stop recording & making money off her and let that girl live.'
This isn't the first time Malia's moves at Lollapalooza have landed her in the headlines.
Last year a video popped up of Malia twerking with friends during a performance at the festival.
The high school graduate was criticized for skipping Hillary Clinton's historic speech at the Democratic National Convention to attend the event in her hometown.
Another video allegedly showed Obama's eldest puffing on a suspicious cigarette during the festival.
The brief clip, published by Radar, shows the teenager mingling with crowds as she takes a drag.
An eyewitness insisted she was smoking marijuana, the tabloid site reported.
Right-wing pundits had a field day with the videos, hitting out at everything from Malia's character to Obama's parenting skills.
But the Ivy League student had the last laugh a month later, trolling her critics by wearing a homemade shirt with 'Smoking Kills' written across the front in marker.
Malia has been enjoying her last few months before starting at Harvard, including wrapping up a internship with producer Harvey Weinstein in New York.
She apparently made quite a good impression at her job because Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry had nothing but good things to say about her.
Malia worked as one of the production assistants on the 50-year-old's CBS sci-fi TV show Extant.
'She was fantastic,' Halle said of Malia Obama this week on Watch What Happens Live. 'She was amazing. She is such a smart, beautiful young woman.'
Halle told host Andy Cohen to 'look who her mother and her father are, so, duh,' meaning then-President Barack Obama and then-First Lady Michelle Obama.
Andy asked: 'Was that kinda wild?' to which Halle said: 'It was kinda wild,' and Andy prodded: 'Were you like: '"Will you get me a coffee?"', putting on a timid voice.
Halle got in on the joke as well, saying in a similar sheepish voice: '"Could we call your dad or your mom?"' before, now in regular voice, adding: 'Yeah, I was such a huge fan of hers. She was amazing,' said Halle of the now 19-year-old Malia.
Toni Collette, sitting next to Halle, inquired: 'So, she pulled her weight on set?' and Halle replied: 'Yeah, she was down to do whatever a PA is asked to do, and I had wild respect for her for that,' with Toni concurring: 'Yeah, I think that's amazing.'
Halle did recall that 'everybody couldn't really see her as a PA. Although she tried and tried to be one, we just couldn't really see her as one, but to her credit, she tried very hard to be one,' the Kidnap star explained before the subject changed.
When Malia heads off to Harvard, she'll be following in her parents' footsteps for enrolling at the Ivy League university.
Malia visited at least a dozen public and private colleges during her search, mostly on the East Coast. Six of the eight Ivies were among them, including her parents' alma maters.
Although it is not yet known what she plans to study in school, Malia is an aspiring filmmaker, with several internships under her belt already.
The president is a 1983 graduate of Columbia University, and Mrs Obama graduated from Princeton in 1985.
They both earned law degrees at Harvard.
Obama entered Harvard Law School in the fall of 1988 and was there for two years.
Michelle Robinson, as she was then known, went on to earn her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Harvard Law School in 1988.
Obama has spoken publicly about dreading the day when Malia leaves for college, and the decision for Malia to take a gap year kept her closer to home as her family prepares for the major transition.
