Divorce is bad, especially if children are in the picture. Stay level headed. But whisking them off to to the UK may not be an ideal solution. Do you not need a letter of consent from their Mother? I thought that everywhere in the World that was obligatary, especially with the horrible child traficking that sadly goes on?

I was sort of lucky, i was separated from my hubbie for 6 years, he suddenly called me out of the blue about getting a divorce. Sadly he died two weeks later in an accident. At first, I wished him dead but after six years... Now I feel nothing. I do think about him ocassionally, but that's all. No kids, and I haven't heard from my Stepson since his father's funeral. He must be forty now. Perhaps i'm a Stepgranny!!

I have heard, that it may take years for you to get full custody of the kids. Hopefully not. But keeping on the right side of the law is probably the best way to go. You wouldn't want an International Child Kidnapping thingy on top of everything else.

total bollicks... i know a small amount of falang living with there kids.... there's a few on here.

i have/ do know a few falang that had to go the court route. there isn't one of them that lost out to the thai in court so not all bad.... personally my wife seems to be only too keen to off load her responsibilities, and her own family contacted me to take our daughter. job done and not one wave to ride out in the last 8 yrs.

Lob, very true as long as the Farang plays the Thai game at court, and shows the respect, I've heard of many successful results.

My son was telling me the other day, that his grandmother was saying both him and my daughter would be better off with me to take care, but would she say that to the court.?

Think Strollers trying to say that in the event of a split between parents the mother is automatically seen to have 'parental rights'. Whereas the father has to apply for them. Either by mutual consent, or via a judge.
