Thank you to our good friend Socal for bangin up this mesmerisingly informative toob about the mighty mustang.
This inspired me to finish polishing the knobs on my 3rd and final big scale P-51
This P-51C example (MkIII in RAF patois) illustrates the organic evolution from the early MP-51B ridge-back with multi-panel access to the cockpit as exemplified by Capt. Dominic Gentile's crate on the right to the pure bubble top of the classic late model P-51D to the rear.

^ Slightly off-topic, but was persuaded to go and watch the new Top Gun in the cinema last night . . . surprisingly good, excellent effects and almost no USA-Rah-Rah, the opposite actually.
Definitely worth seeing on the big screen for full effect.

Interesting system ... few of these would help Ukraine
A new German tank has been unveiled by Germanys military industrial complex. How convenient the war is for the complex. At least Germany will buy in house and won't buy gas guzzling Abrams.
I think this tank is kinda ugly. Most modern tanks look very good but the proportions on this thing are meh
While I was sitting in my rock-pool today 3 F-35As went screaming past at about 200m above sea-level and 500m off the coast.
Awesomeness abounds!
Never had I ever seen an F-35 in the flesh before. Too fast to grab my camera.
They must have flown up from my old stomping ground RAAF Base Williamtown where a new delivery was stationed in March.
It gives me a warm tingly feeling in my tummy to see the defenders of delicious western democracy streaking across the sky.
^ Yes, amazing beasts they are.
Loved the flyover, the sound @ the 2.40 min mark above
We have the Abbotsford International Airshow here in Western Canada. We get all the top stuff from the US. I seen the F-35 up close last year. And the F-22 demo team was here. There was even a stealth bomber flybye here in the 90's. And Nighthawk.
If you are ever around the west coast in August , come check it out
We also had the first Mig 29's as the USSR collapsed

US M777 155mm howitzer firing spotter-drone GPS-guided shells to hit rocket launchers from 40km out
The Seppos get all horney about their gas turbine Abrams. Yes. It's fast. But it has drawbacks.
Anyway Russia has its own gas turbine version too. T-80.
It does 80 km/h
I could post blown up Abrams all day. Or acquisitioned Abrams that isis have. But Im not that stupid. The T-90 does not have gas turbine moron. Russia wasn't dumb enough to make their whole tank line gas turbine. 9500 T-80 have been built, 8500 T-90 have been built.
That's 18,000 you dumb gaylord. There's just 10,000 Abrams built

Peter the Great strategic missile forces academy
^ Fake. Thats for the Ukraine threads
Russia has been shooting cruise missiles daily for almost 6 months. And the western media was saying they would run out of missiles in 2-3 weeks.

^ How is the video a fake? There were several reports describing a SAM misfire and return to strike the ground close to firing position. It isn't a cruise missile.
WRT Russian cruise missiles, they have used an estimated 2000 from a stockpile of around 6000. However, these are only estimates.
