He died 5,300 years ago. He had his tools with him. He was lactose intolerant. He had dozens of tattoos. He died at the age of 45.

He was murdered.

His body tells us about....us.

He was a Palestinian on his way back to his homeland.

He was one of the first Europeans to eat red ants and his last meal was barbecued meat, possibly camel meat.

A team of archaeologists working in the Austrian town of Tulln has found the first complete camel skeleton ever discovered in Central Europe, in a cellar dating back to the seventeenth century. The area was being cleared for a new mall. According to results from the analysis of the remains, it was a hybrid between a Dromedary and Bactrian, and served as a war camel, as indicated by skeletal defects resulting from the regular presence of a harness. Given the age of the skeleton and its location, researchers concluded that it had taken part in the Ottoman advance towards Vienna, which was abruptly ended by Austrian and Polish troops in 1683.

However, Hannibal did get a herd of elephants over the Alps 2000 years ago, didn't he.

What amazes me is that despite intensive examination, it took ten years to find the arrowhead lodged in his shoulder.

Brat Pitt pays homage to Otzi, by getting him tattooed on his arm. For real.

It's a tatt of the position of Otzi's corpse when they found him.

Otzi, is very interesting and we have learned a lot from him, ...but still a weird, morbid, thing to tattoo on yourself all the same... IMO...

An interestingly, Otzi had several tattoos himself.
