    Microdosing.

I was watching something interesting on BBC World yesterday about this: people who take regular small doses of hallucinogenics such as LSD and magic mushrooms both for health purposes (reducing anxiety) and to aid creativity and mental performance.

There must be a few old hippies on here, so where do you stand on this (or float, perhaps) in today's cut-throat corporate world?

I couldn't imagine it that it would be anything other than harmful over a prolonged time.

Nothing wrong with a touch of clean acid every few years, cleans out the cobwebs.

As I remember from my youth most people who had a 'bad trip' were unstable anyway. Hallucinations didn't help their insecurities.

I know people who've smoked weed for 35 years, pretty much everyday, and their memories are fucked. They're all over the show at times.

I can only imagine 'shrooms and acid having an even worse effect over a similar period.

I know people who soak up alcohol who's minds are even worse, far more so than just short term memory loss on grass, most of them can't remember what they drank or did the night or even weeks and months before.

^ long term alcohol abuse seems worse imo. completely changes people from the inside out.

and to the above about 'one only has a bad trip when they're unstable"...this seems a ridiculous claim, and implies that lsd is a safe drug and only bad when, you're not right to begin with.

not only is that ignorant of some of the stuff put in lsd, but disregards one's 'experience' when on it. like, is it a safe environment or one that indices actual paranoia? that matters when 'opened up' like the drug does.

I go along with that 100%.

Clean LSD's not been freely available since 1969.
The range of rubbish the pure drug's been cut with over the years made me avoid going any where near the stuff sold on the streets.

Qld or Bali 'gold top' mushrooms. containing psilocybin and other alkaloids are a far safer therapeutic trip, although of shorter duration (4 hours) than LSD's 8 hour ride.

A safe environment's essential, as is a bolt-hole to escape to if the trip's triggered into a bad-un by some unexpected event, inner or outer.

Unstable persons do need a guide to help them through the trip, also if on grass. Both can initially be a positive experience, but may turn negative as the hallucinogen wears off.

These persons shouldn't take any more than micro-doses of the stuff, I reckon.

It's NOT a good idea to mix LSD with any kind of speed or coke, but a little opium or grass seem OK with it.

Just watched a show on Nat Geo about using medically supervised psychedelic drugs to cure heroine and tobacco addiction. Looks like early days but have some promising results.
