    The Atlanta Hotel, Bangkok

You have a seriously warped sense of humour to be able to recommend that God-fearing people should stay in this part of Bangkok. The Atlanta is home to vast hordes of cats and anybody who has even the mildest allergy should not enter the soi unless equipped with a mask and goggles.

Stars are unimportant and very rarely do they truly reflect the true nature of the hotel.
I'm afraid that's pretty fucking retarded, even for you.

I booked the Penicillin for 4 nights and the Oriental for 4. N
Sadly no butler at either location, but I will make due. Mrs. Chi can prepare my daily wardrobe, turn down the bed covers a night, and other tasks beneath me....

Comfort, ease of convenience in a fine location with excellent service and fine restaurants there are three to choose from according to one's favoured spot in the capital: By the river, then it's the Oriental, approximate to the CBD then the Siam Kempinski and in Sukhumvit I would take the Sheraton.

Actually in Suk that one that's inside Terminal 21 is pretty good, especially if you're only in town for a bit of shopping.

You can walk straight into T21 and back into the hotel with your winnings.

I've stayed there, Grande centre point? I went there because it was mentioned in the top ten hotel pools in bangkok. The pool was closed when I went, it had those mechanical jap toilets, one button said enema, it did as well. I'm sure the hotel was alcohol free too

It appears that I am the only pauper of the Teak Door.

Never have had the desire, nor the money to stay in those places.

Actually, I do have the coin ... but prefer a less insulated experience.

My squeeze, of course, would disagree ... but she's not paying the Bill ...

Ah yes, the toilet's like a fucking A380 cockpit.

The pool was open when I was there, but I must admit I got pissed in Cowboy, stumbled to bed and had an early flight in the morning, but I believe it has a cocktail bar.

    I am not poor.

I spend 65 days a year in Sheraton that's across that crappy centre point.... and yes I always see the pool being empty. Probably because it's in the shade or it simply sucks.

I am sure that you will get a turn down service every night anyway along with a chocolate or two.

I hope that you enjoy your trip and... of course... we need a thread on it.

The landmark is well located but i think the rooms are ordinary for the money. Rembrandts not bad. I lived there for 3 months.

My favourite is the Intercontinental when i can get a deal.
I stay in the Landmark 2-3 times a year, it is really only a 4* but reliable.
JW Marriot is good but there are so many Arabs who just do not control their children, last two times i stayed there were kids playing with a ball in the corridor and their room doors open with the tv on full volume at 0300.
