Those with unhappy experiences, not so forthcoming.
My observation is just the opposite. Horror stories of how a fella was taken by a Thai spouse/family, screwed by a Thai business partner, cheated by a Thai builder, extorted by the BiB, et al dominate forum and media content.

Rare to see a fella who is perfectly happy with life in Thailand publicize it. To do so is not interesting and ends in being labeled a thaiophile.

Nor does the media. Breaking news! "No one in Pattaya was beaten by a gang today."

As to the OP, I would set up my septic and water system better if I had a second chance.

I too get bored. Population of 20k. Expats - 20? Lotus/Makro. TRUE TV - delete.
    English conversation is missing.
I have music, climate, atmosphere, STICKS, massage, simple visa arrangement, quality family (we all have our own space), no desires to travel anymore, enough $$$. Previously I had 'too much', so that I was worrying about it.
When my number is called, all is OK.

    Christ......that's a regret?

For me it would probably be working in Thailand for a tad too long...but then again if I hadn't been working in Thailand I wouldn't have met my wife.

So you take the pluses and minuses...

tc's 'cocks vs other matters' ratio has been pretty consistent over the years. don't take it personally.

Good question AO. The fact of the matter is even though we wouldn't change anything we are in fact in the beginning stages of planning a return. Just not sure if it will be a full time or part time thing yet. Or it could possibly even just be her going back for 4-5 months a year. If that's the case then it would probably be from sometime in November every year until just after Songkran.

I can understand the travel desire but the lack of English conversation would be a killer for me. That being said if only one of the 20 Expats is OK?

Bangkok Post available on the same day? I assume so.

But I get bored sitting here in Bangkok.
