Video – Finnish man survives 5-meter jump into Pattaya tunnel

A young Finnish tourist was seriously injured after he jumped five meters down into a road tunnel near Siam Country Club Old Course in Central Pattaya.

The man, estimated to be 25-30 years old, was found lying in the middle of the tunnel, moaning in pain. Rescue volunteers said he broke both of his arms and sent him to Banglamung Hospital.

Sanam Changlek, a motorbike taxi driver in the area, said he saw the tourist run out of the soi connected with the country club. Seemingly intoxicated, he crossed the road to stand atop of the tunnel, waved and then jumped.

Pattaya police will question the tourist once he has recovered, Daily News reported.

Fins in their homeland at this time of the year suffer from cabin fever. Fins flying into Thailand get too much light for this time of the year.
