Earlier today I submitted the first lot of paper work for Thai citizenship. The gentleman that I am dealing with at the police headquarters rejected one of the documents but I still have 61 points out of 100. I only need to be above 50 to be considered. When I resubmit the corrected rejected document I should gain an additional 15 points.

Instead of replying to this thread I am thinking of starting a new thread on my attempt to gain Thai Citizenship. I am happy to go into a reasonable amount of detail showing what I have needed to do. So, do you all want me to keep replying to this thread or should I start a new one?

Go for it. Start a new one. Good luck. Will be interesting.

Hopefully the mods will keep an eye on the new thread to keep it to point. I for one will follow with interest.

Let's be honest: anyone pretending to be Bangkok Phil has to be a bit of a dick. Failing to carry it off so badly and demonstrating he's a semiliterate oaf with such frequency merely compounds the problem.

Best part would be renouncing my UK citizenship, but I have to wait until my old mum pops her clogs first because I don't want to deal with the UK visa bolox.

If I could ever get any other citizenship I'd love to burn my UK passport and stuff the smouldering embers down the throat of whichever time-server "civil servant" clown the FCO decides to send off to be "Their man in Bangkok"
I'm going back 15 years now but Cambodian citizenship and passport was available for $25,000 U.S. No idea if they are still just selling it these days though or the going rate.
