Following a complaint made to the driver the man in the blue shirt appears to have been arrested on suspicion of administering a drug
Tourists have been warned after Thailand ‘noodle poisoner paralysed travellers with muscle relaxant then stole cash’
Many Thais consider poisonings on buses in order to steal from travellers a real threat but it is considered an urban myth by others.
However, police have arrested a man accused of poisoning a bus passenger ‘with noodles’ and stealing his cash and phone.
A video appears to show police officers questioning the man after he was thrown off the bus in Thailand.
The process usually involves an unsuspecting bus or train passenger being offered food laced with poison that puts them into a deep sleep, allowing a thief to help themselves to valuables.
In the video, a man was travelling on a bus from the capital of Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani, a distance of 380 miles, before it made a stop at Buriram – half way to the destination.
Following a complaint made to the driver the man in the blue shirt appears to have been arrested on suspicion of administering a drug to the black shirted man.
According to reports, he sold the man noodles laced with poison.
He was then accused of stealing twenty thousand Thai baht (almost five hundred pounds) and the man’s mobile phone.
The alleged thief was taken away and will be charged accordingly.
It is believed that the victim, who can be seen being led to an ambulance, made a full recovery.
