^^Good job on the face rebuild. Can we assume it's a work in progress?

My mother in law has that sort of paraphernalia in her room.
Nowhere else though- wife thinks it's all a bit dumb, and she reckons this latest Buddhist amulet craze is cretinous.
    Good Buddhist gal.

The nose was gone by 1737 possibly 1755 at the latest, well before Nappers ever got there (shown in drawings from that time).
The most probable reason was that it just cracked and fell off as it was made of soft limestone and jutted out with no support.
If you guys had bothered to read about ancient history, you would know that the nose of the Sphinx fell off when Obelix tried to scale the statue around 50 BC.

Reminiscent of the medallion craze that swept Europe during the golden age of the disco. I was given one of those things (Buddhist amulet not a medallion) by my sister-in-law a couple of weeks ago, goodness knows why, but there you go. Two people have since expressed an interest in it, one offerring 15k to me if I were prepared to sell. It's somehow special but it's looks just the same as all the others. is there some kind of online guide to the value of these things, lkie there is for stamps & coins?

For the time being my amulet is secreted in my underpants drawer for safekeeping, as no one but me is likely to rummage around in there.

Did anyone else used to get really hungry when Obelix ate wild boar?

I was disappointed as a kid that you couldn't readily order wild boar at restaurants and eat them whole like him. I tired ordering it enough times.

Not as disappointed as I was when I finally got to try it though, bloody horrible it was!

Reminds me of Desperate Dan's Cow pies with the horns sticking out of the pastry.
