Our brief flicker of conciousness is a privilege. We are each of us lucky to be at the helm of our individual identity for our brief span.

I find the reality of the universe to be sufficient marvel to awaken a sense of awe and wonder inside my skull.

If you want to use hallucinogenic drugs to get a sense of awe and wonder then go for your life.

The only thing I will take issue with is any claim on your part that what you experience is anything other then a distorted vision of your own private subjective conciousness.

There is no mystical higher truth to the nature of human conciousness.

We are just monkeys with a highly evolved mental faculty that includes recently evolved reflective self awareness.

You can play games with your conciousness using hallucinogens but there is nothing profound to be examined in these experiments or experiences. It is mental masturbation. There is nothing wrong with ontological onanism but don't start telling people that your addled experiences reveal something about the nature of the universe outside your skull.

They are just the mental equivalent of lighting your brain-farts with a box of matches.

Do you ever question, the sources of your attitudes and points of view?
Seems like you're taking an awful lot on blind faith.

Seems to me there are many questions needing answers, to which western culture and education fail to address.
If you think the past 300 years or so of various industrial revolution have been good for the planet and humanity...well we need not go any further.
But if something doesn't rub you right, concerning the extermination of indigenous people, and the subsequent demonizing of native plants and medicines, then the dominant western society has some explaining to do, me thinks.

Western culture and society needs to explain why the raping and destruction of the earth's environment is acceptable in the pursuit of wealth.

Someone needs to explain why it is acceptable for 5 million people to die every year from human air pollution associated disease.
Someone should explain why 2.5 million dead(every year) in motor vehicle accidents is an acceptable price to pay for the convenience of personal transportation.

Most people who have had their contagiousness elevated through psychoactive experience or meditations, no longer accept blindly the materialistic status quo.

Human consciousness won't be elevated overnight, but it is beginning in small ways.

Declaring it 'impossible' is just wrong in many ways.
