Doesn't every generation think that they had the good stuff and latter generations will never experience the same kind of high..? Could it just be you're further from the source and also no longer privvy to the machinations of teenage counter culture..? I think so... The only generation that could truly say that what they had was better would be the acid heads of the late 60's.. but then LSD doesn't have varieties, only quantity... liquid LSD is still available. Perhaps peak freaks are just simply the minority these days, the kids prefer talcum powder cut with cocaine.
As for not going out on acid... as a couple of other posters have said, it was always best to be active and a skinful of booze beforehand most often helped as well as a cocktail of other substances to keep the balance right along the way... not going out on acid..? The clubs and gigs in London would have been empty in the late 80's and early 90's if that was the case and as for the festivals...
..well I was just a casual observer of these events course![]()
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
