I got mates coming a week on Sunday so we got 3 nights in BKK too. Booked up the Avani Atrium. Never stayed there but looks decent, got newly renovated deluxe rooms discounted to 2,500 per night.

Nice and close to the embassy, need to register my loon.

Winnie the Poo looks very vulnerable in that position Dill...

Was that unintentional? or you sending potential victims subliminal messages?

Kidding.. room looks mint... nice house, I like the wooden floors...

Nantra Ploenchit, with is directly opposite the Swissotel Nilert Park off Wireless. This pasted comments below from the Agoda website are mine.

Good stay at a great price
    location, price, room comfort

This hotel is in a great location; it's about midway between the nightlife areas of Sukhumvit and the shopping areas of Pratinum and a reasonably easy walk to both. The Deluxe room was comfortable, but not as clean as it should be. The glass in the bathroom was stained and the room had a few ants (which is not uncommon in Thailand). Other than that, it was comfortable and adequate with a comfortable western style mattress. The wifi and TV worked well, and the staff was polite and efficient with easy check in and out. The continental breakfast was very basic, but enough to start the day, and the room had a refrigerator inside. This is a decent hotel at a great price."

I think it was too old for Amari standards.

Well you might be mixing with a bunch of Queens, but you won't be doing it at the Atlanta.

The Atlanta also does NOT WELCOME UNDOMESTICATED PEOPLE – the sort of people whose conduct and appearance give tourists in general and their compatriots in particular a bad name.

Have had dinner there 3 times in the past month. Nice place. Give us a PM and can help you out with a discount on the restaurant.

Bit of a fucker for traffic if going into town though, being so close to Chit Lom and Pratunam

Well i am very disappointed with the members on here who live in Bangkok that haven't mentioned Hotel 27.
I walked down this soi to inspect the hotel because of its infamous reputation and rated it 6 Teakdoor stars.
Room rate around 350 to 400 baht a night.

    True story.

Withers stayed at Bogon Mansions the night before his French and U.K adventure a year or 2 back.

He was a perfect guest, even offered to go tap-end in the bath in the morning!

They give you a Blue Peter badge if you have the courage to walk down the soi in the dark. I stood at the entrance to that soi about six weeks ago and there is no way I would go down it after 6.30 pm.

Stayed here 3wks 15yrs ago, was with a girl who worked there, got staff rate of 300 a night, and I taught them english for a 3 month course. Anyway enough of that crap, it's a decent place, location decent, Foodland up the road, airport rail link up the road.... very nice rooms & gym facilities too.

Good pubs/bars/food in Ekkamai/Thong Lor nearby

Pretty much what you'd expect from the Amari group

Where this photo was taken, Klong Toey, and you've just walked past it. On the right is Taffys Fawlty Towers.

The same Taffy of Taffys Hairy Pie Club fame. He's normally say at the bar in the lobby, great guy.

800 a night and you can rent the rooms short time too, erm I should imagine

Best Comfort Bkk Hotel on soi 19 (I think). Close to Terminal 21, Robinson, Bts & Mrt (asok). Decent rooms, pool, gym, sauna. Close to a beer garden. Wifi isn't free, though.
