Illegal Liquor Production Factories raided in East Pattaya
On Wednesday, a joint operation involving the Thai Army, District Officers and Customs & Excise Officers took place in the Huay Yai area where 3 illegal Liquor production facilities were found and shut down.
At each of the locations containers of fermenting white spirit mixed with herbs were found, which after 7 days will produce a popular Thai drink called “Yadong” which is normally around 40% proof.
At the first location, a house owned by Khun Pailin aged 54, 2,280 Liters of the liquid were found and seized. Khun Pailin was detained pending further investigations.
At the second location, 1,100 Liters were found at a house owned by Khun Sampan aged 53.
The final location saw 2,300 Liters of the fermenting Liquor seized at a house owned by Khun Gimnai aged 66.
All three arrestees were found to have had previous convictions for producing “Yadong” and will later be transferred to Huay Yai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
