There are Snakeeyes, me being one! The problem for the UK folks is they have zero technology opportunities. They rely on everyone else to make their economy grow. Just a quick glance at AMD, Nvdia, Amazon, Tesla, Oracle, Cisco tells the tale. AI and the chip set makers are going to drive huge gains in the US economy. I kick myself in the ass for selling Nvidia a year or so back. However I have a longstanding Amazon holding that will likely be passed off to my daughters unless I decide to buy a huge yacht in Monaco.....

What is favorable conversion for UK. I never really followed. Sure we all remember the crazy old days but now with a tighter global market, it's not going to go crazy. I think for any US person here, 32 and up is a good number. 35 is very nice.

^ Its been yo-yoing between 40 and 43 over the last year or two, kind of accepted anything around 42.5 was ok. I just transfer some when the rate looks ok, this was 4k gbp so the extra is enough for a Colossal Sri Lankan crab family meal at Ministry of Crab

^ yeah I think us US folks ( well for me anyway) 30 to 32 is probably a good number. Currently it's favorable as mentioned. For US folks with SS pensions it's a lottery as you never know until done. Same with payroll. Ya hope it's good when they wire it over.

I think based on the current economic position in the tech sector it will remain higher through the rest of this year. The Thai economy really isn't growing fast keeping it weak against the dollar.

But like any conversion bets, ya just never know.

In my eleven years here the Baht has ranged between a low of 28 and a high of 38 per dollar. In any of my budgeting or scenario planning I use 33 Baht per dollar as that has proved a good anchor point for me.
