I would image there is a hell of a lot to sort out .

I have a friend now she is going back to Poland organising containers and resettling her son , it sure is a headache for her .

My house is expensive and no sign of selling it yet. Everything else has been planned, just waiting for the wad of cash which will come my way when it is sold. I am determined to go and recent news has removed any doubts. A friend, much fitter than I am in terms of athleticism, has just been diagnosed with cancer in his mouth/throat. I need to move when I am well. I have to die somewhere one day and it might just as well be Isaan as Wales.

Good luck with it all Can I hope it works out for you. We are getting ready to do the opposite ( nearly ) if all goes to plan we will be off to Belgium the beginning of October.

You do realise that pain relief here is about 50 years behind the times and they don't like to give you morphine even if you are in agony

Are you in Thailand ? Why ? I cannot live my life in fear of what might happen to my health. I need to live and recent news about my friend and his life threatening illness has not discouraged me.

Just as well your friend is not in Thailand, It's not a good place to have, or die from cancer.

Nowhere's a good place to die of cancer.

Anyway he's been planning his re-location for 3 yrs,possibly be another 3 yrs before he arrives.

Personally, I cannot think of any "good place to have or die from cancer". I suppose I am a bit strange.

It's just that a cancer sufferer will be far more likely to die in pain in Thailand due to their backward pain relief policies, can't have a terminally ill patient becoming an 'addict' that would never do.

If he comes from the same area as the gay welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd the house prices ain't expensive there.

Have you heard of the Stereophonics ? Stuart Cable lived in the same village as Ioan Gruffudd's parents. I don't see that Ioan's sexuality is of any importance in determining property market values but it has to be said, given his stated net worth in the region of £ 15 million, that his Mam and Dad live "somewhere tidy".

There are some very nice houses here but I wouldn't concern myself if I was you as it is unlikely that you could ever afford them.

Cable lived near me. He died. Actually, I live in a very nice bungalow and we had hoped to buy a similar property in Thailand but the one we liked has been taken off the market. I am not prepared to build my own house in Thailand and have to resign myself to the fact that in future I will be living in a house that has a staircase.
