Any members who are stock brokers?

Don't really care in which country but are you able to take a stock certificate number, look it up, see the value and who owns the stock.

Preference would be USA, UK, Australia etc but any would do. The important part would be that you can enter the letters and number on a physical stock certificate and get the information.

Surely within our esteemed members one of you have this ability?

No one really owns stocks anymore, they are all owned (in the name of) more of less by one trading house and when you buy it it is lent to you - stock are never in your name in the big exchanges. I would guess that too many trades made each day to make it possible to do so.

However, if you would like to discuss that, start a new thread. This is a very simple question.

Is there anyone here who is a broker and can look up a stocks owner and value based upon the letter and number certificate number.

Where on there can I actually enter the number of a stock and see its worth. I don't mean a general search for the value of "Mega Thaksin Inc" shares. I mean an actual stock certificate number and seeing that specific stock certificates traded value. I think that only a certified stock broker can look that up.

You can ask one of the brokers there although not too many saa-peak Engrish. The main office in Silom is the best bet. Good luck.

I would assume as stock certificates aren't issued anymore you won't have a specific stock 'certificate' number. I suppose you have a certificate from the days when a stock certificate was issued.
You would have to find the stock number and enter it into a site like this
AASTOCKS.com ? HK Free Stock Quote
and it will tell you the value of that stock today and any amount of other information you may require.

I assume your stock certificate represents one share or a block of (?) shares.

Surely the value of any stock or share is what it is trading at, at the current time.

Any certificate denotes the number of share etc. from which the value can be calculated.

Thanks for at least putting us out of our suspense. I hate these types of dilemmas. Much easier to count your gold bars or dust and weigh your gold Buddhas.

You have some certificates or possibly photos? The next question is how do you "authenticate" the said numbers as being allocated to you.
