I went with my girlfriend to meet the security manager last night.

The first thing he said after shaking my hand and wying the girlfriend was that as I'd admitted it in my email we could settle it now. Talk about trying it on. I said no way, and a slightly heated exchange carried on for 5 minutes during which i got hold of a copy of the police report. G\He kept asking me if i did it. I told him I'd only talk to the police about that. He accepted that.

Then the girlfriend waded in with wyes and lots of "ka s" and said she'd pay 2000 Baht. He didn't accept that but said the amount was fully open for negotiation. Talk about trying it on. I told him that i wanted to see the receipt for the glass. He said he didn't have it yet but he'd call me in the morning when he'd got it from accounts. Now after 2pm and no phone call.

Afterwards she said the best way is to be very polite. That seems a strange thing to do with someone who is trying to scam money out of you, but maybe it worked.
