Hey Nooners, I arrived in this thread late, but Mrs Benbaaa says it depends entirely how he said it. If he was smiling and just being neighbourly, you're being way oversensitive and should shut the fuck up (in the politest possible way

). If he wasn't, you're right, he was being rude - and the correct response is to just shrug it off.

I went to buy chopped up fried chicken for my dogs the other day at the market, as I do every day. The chicken guy always chats to me, but when I got there he was already chatting with another customer. As I approached, I heard the customer say something including the word 'falang'. The chicken guy caught my eye, winked at me and told the customer to be careful what he said - I wasn't any old falang, I was a falang Thai.
