as for the dog killer, he was an extremely nasty person and he killed the dogs you loved. Losing the dogs was enough to make you miserable, agreed, but the guy just needed his head examining.

The abbreviation in proper English is "fridge", or just call it "Kuehlschrank".
"Ref" I first heard from the Flippo Islanders, they got it from the yanks, I think. Let their kids play in it, it's nice and cool, when it's not used to store some San Migs.
