My birthday
My birthday
Staying home, staying chilled
Belated Happy Birthday Mandy
Had this bottle for a long while. Grey Goose with a hint of Cognac. Quite nice on the rocks.
^ More nice cider... again from Villa Market it looks like!
Last weekend I looked in at the Villa close to the Robin Hood... cider stripped bare... and managed to get 4 bottles of Strongbow.
Also checked the villa by Sukhumvit Samitivej Hospital (Soi 49?)... same story, and managed 2 bottles of Strongbow.
But it's nice to see someone enjoying cider in these hard times!
As for me... a Ya Dong with Yogi tonight. It was brown, not red, and worse than normal...
Happy birthday Mandy.
Yogi doesn't look too impressed either.
Snakey only like a car bonnet
Well a day off and after shimming a door, massaging lotion into me seat and actually buying Anusol for the first time in my life i have the necessary ammo for a pleasant recline in the garden - lovely sunny day.
Despite being dubious about anything with a Premier Cru label it was a near pint filing bottle of apple delight, a bit dry for my taste but two bottles in a nice feeling of can't be arsed is creeping up - that's it job wise today and Ester ain't getting any help applying that anal stuff, not even if she begs.
That Aspall needs ice
Not when its out the freezer and 11 degrees outside but sunny, i need them koala slippers Loops has and some ear mufflers to go with the Norwegian lip balm i applied to stop the glass freezing to my lips.
I was referring to the strength....sleepwalking shit that
Well i need bigger bottles. 3 in now and had to have an Honest Ale in between....turns out buying Anusol gives you a thirst.
I've never seen the Hazy Hog cider before, NPT. Let us know which one you like best.
Nev Aspal is leader of the pack but only because i've not slugged the Hog or Vintage - the last three are back in the fridge as shivering whilst drinking is taking the edge off me buzz. My intention was a tasting session but i've never been good with the first part and now i am working Ales in, the palette is getting confused. I will try and "Summate" (going out to Manny on the Acronym thread that one) in the morning.
Right, in the interest of not letting Nev down and giving him a sleepless night. I cracked the Hog. It may be that Imgur is letting me down or i'm getting a bit too wankered with buttons so if this turns out slanty ..
Tasting notes:
Aspall: Dry, very dry but i like it. At 6.8% its probably not best suited to a 2+ pints an hour philistine like me,
Hazy Hog: now this is more rough cider like in taste but a slight fizz - medium dry and more a session cider if such a thing exists. Me going over mini daffs and a rising pear as a backdrop.
I'll see if i can snap the others before the sun passes out or i do.
Final tasting note - don't buy Westons Vinage imo - tasted chemically so - session Hogs but start it with Aspalls. Now i have run out and no locals open for some rough stuff its back to measly 5% Hen. Hey ho
Its a costly ration night this. I may have to watch some vids for minor drinking motivation.
Damage to my zombie world end supply could be irrecoverable.
So post family teleconference love in and having made what can only be described as a possibly catastrophic dent in me supply; 4 Aspalls, 1 Hog Haze, 1 Westons Vintage, 3 Ambers, 3 OSHs and a Darjeeling - i feel i need more tea.
Aspalls 6.8% Premier Cru is my Zombie tipple..in the absence of real rough cider...sorry Mendip, Japper whilst you spout about fingers you need to try some fallers coz i reckon 6 pints of dry and a burst of air and you'd meet the ground .
You're building up a tolerance to alcohol along with the rest of the UK population at the moment
