Prices in UK pubs must make punters sober up fast these days.

Why else would people be drinking crap like US buddweiser.

It's delivered to the door of your house these days, to slobs like Reg Dingle.

I just contributed to the exchange.

You tried a put down, made a complete tit of yourself and you've come back for more.

And the salient point as far as you are concerned is that you think I'm drunk.

Then you try and pick yourself up off the floor with some sort of riposte regarding...some other dim bunch of thoughts.

    G'night half pissed halfwit.

Looks like a good place for a cold beer, was it served warm on purpose?

Actually Joe, that is incorrect as I understand it. A Tankard has a lid and handle and can be made of many different materials. If it's open top with a handle it's called a mug.

The word "tankard" originally meant any wooden vessel (13th century) and later came to mean a drinking vessel. The earliest tankards were made of wooden staves, similar to a barrel, and did not have lids. A 2000-year-old wooden tankard of approximately four-pint capacity has been unearthed in Wales.
Four-pint capacity! They were not fucking around!

When was the last time you actually visited a pub/ engaged in some offline socialising?

UK Pubs aren't nearly as expensive or as restrictive as you think...and although obviously not as cheap as drinking tinnies at home, a pint of beer in a pub here is around the same price you pay to sit inside, watching smog and second rate footy, drinking your second rate UK brewed and watered down Belgium beer.

    And you spelled Budweiser wrong

    Not UK brewed.

    A beer is about £6 a pint, isn't it?

Stella Artois here costs £1.50 for 500 mil.

    You're talking complete bollocks.

And weren't you saying a while back that the Amazon guys loved you, as you delightedly opened up a case of that dismal pish called Heineken?

You seem a bit confused - youre saying I'm both right and wrong on the prices.

You're well out of touch, fella.
Tomorrow at Wetherspoons Monday Club, you could buy nearly 3 pints of Shipyard IPA, 4.8abv for that and a lovely smooth pint it is too.

The rest of the week you could get 2 pints with your 6 buff and still have change for the bandit.

There are other pubs around here that rival Spoons on price too, although they do have red cloth on the pool table for a reason

As for the Heineken 'piss'...you'll find it's considerably stronger and far tastier than your can of Welsh brewed Stella thats fast losing its 'wifebeater' reputation nowadays
